PRESENT:Mayor Charlie Wyatt,Council MembersLarry Lacer, David Talley, Steve Byers, Bob Canada Mike Webb, Clerk Treasurer Tammy Boruff and Attorney Mark Phillips.
ABSENT: None
Mayor Charlie Wyatt called the meeting to order and asked all who wished to join in the Pledge to the Flag.
APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: Larry Lacer made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 7, July 13th, and July 21st 2016 meetings. Dave Talley seconded and the motion passed 5-0.
Mayor Charlie Wyatt updated the board on the City’sComprehensive Plan, Michelle Johnson asked for all in attendance to fill out the survey for the Comprehensive Plan.
CITIZEN’S COMMENTS:
COUNCIL CONCERN: Bob Canada appreciates the lights being back on at City Lake Park.
Dave Talley asked about the status of paving? Mayor Charlie Wyatt announced the grant has been filed and INDOT will award in September.
NEW BUSINESS:Dave Talley made a motion to approve the 1st reading of Ordinance 2016-7 (An Ordinance Fixing Compensation for Elected Officials of the City of Boonville for 2017) by name and title only. Steve Byers seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Attorney reads ordinance.
Bob Canada wants a $1500.00 increase in salaries not a $2500.00 increase. He has spoken with the taxpayers and they feel that $1500.00 is a good raise.
Mayor Charlie Wyatt asked for a roll call vote: Mike Webb- yes, Larry Lacer- yes, Dave Talley- yes, Steve Byers- yes, and Bob Canada- no. The motion carried 4-1.
Mike Webb made a motion to adopt the second reading of Ordinance 2016-7 (An Ordinance Fixing Compensation for Elected Officials of the City of Boonville for 2017) by name and title only. Steve Byers seconded and the motion carried 4-1.
Adoption will be on September 1, 2016.
Dave Talley made a motion to hold the 1st reading of Ordinance 2016-6 (Appointed Officials and Employees of the City of Boonville for 2017) by name and title only. Larry Lacer seconded and the motion carried 5-0.

Dave Talley made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2016-6 (Appointed Officials and Employees of the City of Boonville for 2017) by name and title only. Mike Webb seconded and the motion carried 4-1.
Adoption will be on September 1, 2016.

Bob Canada seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
Larry Lacer made a motion to suspend the rules. Steve Byers seconded and the motion carried 5-0.
