Buncrana Christmas Tree Festival

Our resident artist Terry Tedstone created this wonderful Christmas Tree on behalf of Fort Dunree for the Buncrana Christmas Tree Festival. It alludes to the Christmas Day truces along the Western Front in 1914 and 1915. Soldiers from both sides came out of their trenches to exchange small gifts, sing carols, take part in joint burial services and, most memorably, play football matches!

The Board and Staff of Fort Dunree would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and look forward to seeing you in 2018!
