DISCUSSION:Dr. Puscheckappearedbefore the Committeein accordance with a Notice of Informal Conference dated July 13, 2009. Dr. Puscheckwas represented by counsel, John Conrad, Esq. The Committee fully discussed the allegations contained in the notice with Dr. Puscheck.
CLOSED SESSION:On properly seconded motion by Dr. Wise, the Special Conference Committee recessed Open Session and convened in Closed Session pursuant to §2.2-3711(A)(28) of the Code of Virginia for the purpose of deliberation to reach a decision in the matter regarding Lisa M. Puscheck, DVM. Additionally, it was moved that Peter Opper, Administrative Proceedings Division, Elizabeth Carter,Executive Director, Board of Veterinary Medicine and Terri Behr, Operations Manager, Board of Veterinary Medicine, attend the closed meeting because their presence in the closed meeting was deemed necessary and would aid the Committee in its deliberations. Having certified that the matters discussed in the preceding closed session met the requirements of §2.2-3712 of the Code, the Committee reconvened in open session and announced its decision.
DECISION:Based on the Investigative Report and discussion of the case with Dr. Puscheck, the voted to dismiss the case. The hearing adjourned at 9.50 a.m.

Schenley, DVM. Additionally, it was moved that Peter Opper, Administrative Proceedings Division, Elizabeth Carter, Executive Director, Board of Veterinary Medicine and Terri Behr, Operations Manager, Board of Veterinary Medicine,attend the closed meeting because their presence in the closed meeting was deemed necessary and would aid the Committee in its deliberations. Having certified that the matters discussed in the preceding closed session met the requirements of §2.2-3712 of the Code, the Committee reconvened in open session and announced its decision.
DECISION:Based on the Investigative Report and discussion of the case with Dr. Schenley, the Committeeordered that Dr. Schenley be issued an Order imposing a $500 monetary penalty and an unannounced inspection within three months from the date that the Order becomes final. The hearing adjourned at 11:12a.m.

CLOSED SESSION:On properly seconded motion by Dr. Wise, the Special Conference Committee recessed Open Session and convened in Closed Session pursuant to §2.2-3711(A)(28) of the Code of Virginia for the purpose of deliberation to reach a decision in the matter regarding William W. Will, DVM. Additionally, it was moved that Peter Opper, Administrative Proceedings Division, Elizabeth Carter, Executive Director, Board of Veterinary Medicine and Terri Behr, Operations Manager, Board of Veterinary Medicine, attend the closed meeting because their presence in the closed meeting was deemed necessary and would aid the Committee in its deliberations. Having certified that the matters discussed in the preceding closed session met the requirements of §2.2-3712 of the Code, the Committee reconvened in open session and announced its decision.
DECISION:Based on the Investigative Report and discussion of the case with Dr. Will, the Committee will offer Dr. Will a Consent Order for indefinite suspension of his license in lieu of a Formal Hearing in the matter. Dr. Will will have fourteen days in which to consider signing the Consent Order. The hearing adjourned at 12.55 p.m.

Joyce, DVM. Additionally, it was moved that Peter Opper, Administrative Proceedings Division, Elizabeth Carter, Executive Director, Board of Veterinary Medicine and Terri Behr, Operations Manager, Board of Veterinary Medicine, attend the closed meeting because their presence in the closed meeting was deemed necessary and would aid the Committee in its deliberations. Having certified that the matters discussed in the preceding closed session met the requirements of §2.2-3712 of the Code, the Committee reconvened in open session and announced its decision.
DECISION:Based on the Investigative Report and discussion of the case with Dr. Joyce, the Committee ordered that Dr. Joyce may not be the veterinarian in charge (VIC) of his facility and must name a new VIC within10 days of the date the Order becomes final. The Committee also ordered that Dr. Joyce submit to an evaluation by a chemical dependency specialist and have a written report sent to the Board within 60 days of the date the Order becomes final, at which time an Informal Conference will be scheduled. The hearing adjourned at 3:15p.m.
