BOARD OF SUPERVISORS MEETING MINUTES

NEW COLUMBIA, PA

August 23, 2016

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Supervisors of White DeerTownship was held on August 23, 2016. Present were Supervisors Carroll Diefenbach, Larry Seibert, Donald Wilver, Jr.; Solicitor Peter Matson and Secretary Charlene Aeppli. The minutes of the July meeting were unanimously approved with corrections following a motion by Donald Wilver, Jr., and second by Larry Seibert.

OLD BUSINESS:

Following a motion by Larry Seibert, and second by Donald Wilver, Jr., the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the payment of bills as set forth on the bill sheet dated August 23, 2016 the same totaling $10,250.49.

Regarding the Robert Zellers’request, the Township will ask PennDot for permission to place a Hidden Driveway sign in PENNDOT’s right-of-way advising travelers of the hidden driveway at the top of the hill.

Regarding Mr. Hedding’s request concerning the blocked alley in New Columbia, the alley was not abandoned by the Township so Supervisor Diefenbach will contact the owner of the cat blocking the alley.

NEW BUSINESS

Following a motion by Donald Wilver, Jr. and second by Larry Seibert, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to award Cargill, Inc., the bid for 400 +/- salt in the amount of $30,188.00. The bids were:

Compass Minerals No bid

Jet Stream fuels $39,092.00

There are water issues in an alley behind the Snyder, Metzger and Eddinger home. The Township will investigate what can be done to resolve the situation.

SOLICITOR COMMENT:

Solicitor Peter L. Matson submitted a Storm Water Management Plan for Matt Byler on Ridge Rd. Following a motion by Donald Wilver, Jr. and second by Larry Seibert, the Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to authorizing either the Supervisor’s Chairman or Secretary of the Township to sign the documents as they come in.

None

There being no further business, adjournment was moved by Larry Seibert, and seconded by Carroll Diefenbach, with unanimous approval by the Supervisors.
