Essential Question: What is a mission statement?
Objective: Students will be introduced to the importance of a vision, a mission statement, and goal-setting within the context of the business environment.
Guided Practice: Students will take notes over Vision and Mission Statements PPT and we will discuss the importance and purpose of a mission statement and review the Worth Co. School Systems’ vision and mission statement.
Independent Practice: Students will take notes on the handouts for the PPT and will complete the Mission Statement Matching Activity.

Objective: Students will apply the decision making process to a business situation, and the students will use SWOT analysis to choose whether investing in a business/product is a good idea.
Guided Practice: Discuss the meaning of SWOT to the students. Students will view an episode of the TV show Shark Tank and will take notes on the Shark Tank Video SWOT Analysis Handouts. Only show the first two contestants – Marian Cruz and Bryan Parks, and then discuss as needed.
Independent Practice: Shark Tank SWOT Analysis Handout and Discussion
