Blue Skies Newsletter: 01/25/2018

2018 Federal Income Tax Withhold table is now on this computer. If your data is in a 2018Data folder it will automatically be installed into that folder when next 2018 payroll is run. But if your data folder DOES NOT end in ‘2018Data’, you will need to manually copy PRTAX-US.dbf (latest fed tax table has a 1/16/18 date modified) from your c:\Blue_Sky program folder into the folder that has your 2018 data.

•New Newsletters are displayed ONCE automatically on each workstation and so should be printed out and saved. Blue Skies Newsletters are in c:\Blue_Sky as ‘Newsltr01-25-2018.docx’ [or whatever the date] if you need to retrieve and re-read or print old newsletters.

•Want a different picture on your Blue Skies main screen instead of the AgData airplane? See the grapes below? Under your Tools menu, chose Tools Setup, then click anywhere in the text to the right of ‘Desktop Picture’ and then click Browse to any .bmp picture - including several in your 'c:\blue_sky\Ag Photos' folder. Each work station can have their own photo.

Backup and Restore improvements: Backup file names now has date & time of backup in the filename so many backups for a client can be stored on a disk. You can restore yesterday’s, last week’s, last month’s backup to provide extra protection against computer virus or operator mistakes. You also can backup into the Cloud so even if you have local vandalism or fire or flood, your data is safe in an offsite location. If you wish, AgData tech support can access your data backed up in the cloud for extra safety and tech support.

•Sick Leave Used: You can enter sick leave used by an employee either in hours or in gross. If an employee wants to use 4 hours of his Sick Leave account to take time off, enter 4 hours Sick Leave used. On the other hand, if an employee wants $50 out of his Sick Leave account, enter sick leave hours used as zero and Sick Leave Gross as $50. Blue Skies will back calculate the number of Sick Leave hours required to total $50 and reduce the employees Sick Leave balance by those number of hours.

New tech support person, Ann Raney, now works at AgData to assist your tech support – and to assist Rob. Say ‘welcome and thank you’ to Ann.
