RULES

This show is affiliated to the BSPS and all persons entering, competing, showing or otherwise taking part inBSPS classes, whether or not members of the BSPS are subject to the Constitution and Rules of the BSPSincluding disciplinary procedures and shall be deemed to have consented to the jurisdiction of the BSPS.

Ponies must not be tied up outside boxes/trailers and left unattended.

Dogs, bicycles and roller blades or similar are not permitted on showground. Dogs must be confined to theowners vehicle.

If any pony has been in contact with strangles or any other infectious disease it should not be attend anyshows at this centre.

Access is not permitted to the fields or any other area than that normally used for shows.

Boxes are NOT to be mucked out or rubbish left.

Any pony may be liable for dope testing.

No entry will be refunded under any circumstances.

The committee reserves the right to refuse entries.

Correctly secured skull caps/riding hats Nos. PAS015, (BS) EN1384 – 20, BSEN1384, VGI, ASTMF1163 (2004) with SEI mark, SNELL E2001, Australian & New Zealand All AS/NZS 3838 1998 MUST be worn by riders at all times when mounted.See rules 46 BSPS.

All ponies in Novice Ridden, Lead Rein and First Ridden classes must be shown in suitable snaffle bridles.Any suitable bridles may be worn in heritage first ridden classes.

The judge’s decision is final.

Objections must be made in writing together with £10 deposit within 30 minutes of the end of the eventconcerned being judged. If objection is not withheld than deposit is forfeited.

No claim can be entertained for anything that may happen to competitors, onlookers or their property,servants, horses or ponies in connection with this show. It shall be a condition of entry that each entrantshall indemnify the promoters against any legal action from such accident.

The committee reserves the right to change judges.

Classes may be cancelled amalgamated or divided depending on numbers or entries.

The organisers reserve the right to close classes at any date if they consider sufficient entries have beenreceived.If the show has to be cancelled half the entry fee will only be refunded in no other case will monies be returned.

The wearing of spurs in children's riding ponies show hunter working pony and M&M working pony classesis forbidden. Also no change of saddlery is allowed in WHP classes.

Competitors competing in BSPS classes must only use tack or spurs permissible in BSPS classes on the showground whilst mounted.

All animals entered must hold a current flu vac certificate random inspections may be held.

All animals may be measured at judges discretion unless official JMB certs are produced.

In interests of safety a horse or pony should be moved at walk except in showing rings or horse exercise areas.

Exhibitors disregarding these rules may be asked to leave showground.

Competitors must be ready l5 minutes before commencement of timed classes. Classes will not bedelayed. Entry into a ring late will beat the judges’ discretion, and only if the class is still in the preliminary walk round.

No Lunging permitted at any time in the warm up or competition arenas.

Please could all exhibitors, riders and helpers use the skips provided to pick up droppings to preserve the new surface.

BSPS ELIGIBILITYOF PONIESOWNERS& RIDERS

Riders must be 12 years or over on 1st January in current year to ride any pony stallion not exceeding138cm or Small Breed M&M stallions.

Riders must be 14 years or over on 1st January in current year to ride any pony stallion exceeding 138cmor large breed M&M stallion.

QUALIFICATIONS

All rules as per the 2016BSPS Rule & Show Handbook.

All ponies must be four years old or over.

Ages for riders as per the BSPS Rule & Show Handbook.

The following classes are qualifiers for the BSPS Winter Championships Show. The1st 2nd and 3rd prizewinners will qualify in the Novice Classes and Open First Pony of Show Pony or of Show hunterType Class and in theMIXED HEIGHT NOVICE CLASSES the 1st 2nd3rd and 4thprize winners will qualify. In the OPEN CLASSES the three highest placed restricted animals will qualify.In the MIXED HEIGHT OPEN CLASSES the four highest placed restricted animals will qualify, (riders on restricted animals MUST wear an armband).

Animals must be registered before the date of the Show at which they qualify for the WinterChampionships and must be ridden by BSPS members, except in the case of exhibitors who have neverbeen members before who are allowed 7 days in which to become members and register their ponies,providing they have a valid JMB Certificate before the date of the Championship for which they qualify.

Any animal that has been placed 1st to 8that the RIHS (except Pretty Polly) or HOYS and Olympia (in the case of Heritage classes) in 2014,2015,2016 are not eligible for the restricted qualification in any class in which the restricted qualification is offered.

Cards will be presented in the ring to ponies that qualify for the restricted classes, these cards to be sent in with entries for the winter championships.

Animals may not compete in the 153cm WH class and the intermediate WH class at the same show in the same section, except at the RIHS ( subject to confirmation).

Ponies placed 1st in Heritage Open/Rest. Classes to qualify for the B.S.P.S. “Industrial Salt Supplies” Winner of Winners (WOW Factor) at the B.S.P.S. Summer Championships.

The NPS/ HirstmundStud M&M Pure Novice Ridden Winter Championship WMM-PNR

a) Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book.

Ponies not to have been placed first in any Ridden M&M class (excluding Leading Rein or First Ridden).

Two classes as follows, or split at the show’s discretion:

Class 1- Small,Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A, Welsh B

Class 2 - Large Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh C, Welsh D

b) Rider any age, except stallions (see rules in section A 3.2)

c) The owner does not have to be an NPS member for the pony to enter this competition or to qualify but the owner must be a Qualifying or Life member of the NPS to enter the final.

d) In each class the three highest placed ponies which have not already qualified, within the first six places, will qualify for the final at the NPS Spring Festival.

e) Ponies must be shown in a snaffle bit. f) Ponies may be stripped at the judge’s discretion.

2. The NPS/HANOVER DAIRIES LTD M&M Novice Ridden Winter Championship WMM-NR

a) Stallions, mares and geldings four years old and over, registered in the main body of their respective Breed Society stud book. Ponies not to have won a first prize of £10 or more in any Ridden M&M class.
