Classroom Rules

1. Be on time! That means be in your seat when the bell rings.

2. Be Prepared! Have homework and materials ready before class begins.

3. Check the board for Bell Work every morning and begin working on it immediately

4. Food and drink are permitted in the classroom with the understanding that ALL “snack” trash must be disposed of before leaving the classroom. REMEMBER…it is a privilege…not a right.

5. Foul language will not be permitted in the classroom.

6. BE RESPECTFUL OF EVERYONE!!!

7. All BHS and RCBOE policies and procedures apply in this classroom.

Classroom Procedures

1. Have materials ready and be prepared for class when the bell rings.

2. If you arrive tardy to health class, you must proceed to tardy station or attendance for late slip.

3. Class will begin with bell work each day.

4. Participation in class is expected.

5. Use of cell phones or electronic devices during class is prohibited unless instructed by teacher.

6. You must have an agenda pass to leave the classroom.

7. Remain in your seat until the end of class. You are dismissed when the bell rings.

8. If you will be missing class due to a school event, you must inform Coach Hayes prior to the date of absence. It is the student’s responsibility to find out what work will be missed.

Grading Procedures

Formative Assessments will make up 50% of a student’s final 9-week grade.

Missing Work

If a student fails to turn in an assignment, he/she will complete it for credit. 20% will be deducted from the grade for lateness unless the reason for the late assignment is covered by the absentee/make up policy (see below). Missing assignments must be completed prior to the end of each 9-week grading period; otherwise, a grade of zero will be entered.

Make-up Work Due to Absenteeism

Missed work due to absenteeism must be made up for credit within five (5) days of returning to school. Blackman High School follows Rutherford County policy on the credit received for the work.
