Reminders for Volunteers
1. Be dropped off or drive to your assigned location by 7:50 AM. If you drive, park your car on the right side of the road, out of the way.
2. When you arrive at your location, check in with your sponsor/ leader (Sara Marchman, Jenny Gunter, or Ian Stembridge) via text or call.
3. You may want to bring a chair, as there will be downtime before the runners get to many of the locations, as well as after the runners have passed.
4. Between 8:00 and 9:00, Marie Murray will check on volunteers at your locations to pass out pool noodles and answer any questions. You can also text any questions or concerns that come up (706-551-1839).
5. The race begins at 9:00 AM.
6. If your name is highlighted on the chart, that means runners will pass you more than once. Make sure you know the direction they should turn each time they pass you!
7. Remain at your location until all runners & the final golf cart have come by. A race coordinator on the golf cart will let you know when all runners have passed your location.
8. Because we have added a 10K in addition to the 5K this year, some volunteers will be at their locations longer than in the past.
9. Show excitement! Encourage racers by cheering them on! Don’t sit while the race is going on.
10. Come to the gazebo in the park after the awards ceremony to pick up your t-shirts.
