BIO of Keith D. Corrick
Keith is a native of Maryland, born in 1953 in Olney MD. Keith and his lovely wife, Terri, have been married for 41 years. They have three children: Greg, who resides in Leonardtown and is a middle school bible teacher and Athletic Director at Southern Maryland Christian Academy in White Plains, MD; Brian, who is pastor of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Glenelg, MD; and Philip, who is a 10 year Navy veteran who now works in the cyber security field in Baltimore. Keith and Terri have 6 grandchildren.
Keith received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 17 at the Elkridge Baptist Church in Elkridge MD. At the age of 27 he surrendered to the Gospel Ministry in 1980 at the First Baptist Church of Laurel MD. Soon after, Keith and Terri moved to New Orleans to begin the adventure of theological education. He is a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and Washington Bible College.
During his 31 years of pastoral ministry in the Baptist Convention of Maryland Delaware Keith has pastored four churches. Keith pastored the Yale Heights Baptist Mission, which later constituted as a Church in the Baltimore Association. He also pastored the Beltsville Baptist Church in Prince Georges Association and while there assisted with a Haitian Church plant in Chillum Heights, MD. During his 11 year pastorate at Liberty Baptist Church of the Mid-Maryland Association, he led his church to sponsor a new church plant in Columbia MD. For several years at Hughesville Baptist he assisted the leadership of New Covenant Community Church in our own association. Keith has led three different churches in building projects. While at Beltsville he led in renovating a new worship sanctuary. During his time at Liberty Baptist, he led the church in building and relocating to an entire new facility. In 2006, Hughesville built a new worship sanctuary, educational wing and office space.
Before entering the pastoral ministry, Keith was heavily involved in Baptist Men’s Work. In later years, this led to serving on a national level as Trustee of the Brotherhood Commission for seven years. He served as Chairman and Member of the Program Services Committee, as Secretary and Member of the Support Services Committee, and as Member of the Executive Committee. Keith is most thankful to have served during these formative years of the expansion of our SBC Disaster Relief Program and the development of World Changers. In 1997-98, he was selected by his peers to serve as one of two members of the Brotherhood Trustee Board as an Incorporator for the North American Mission Board.
Throughout his over 30 years of ministry Keith has served on many levels of State and Associational denomination work, including his service as Vice-President of our BCMD General Mission Board and various State and Association committees. For many years he conducted Baptist Men’s Trainings and Lay Evangelism Training Schools throughout our State Convention.
In recent years one of the enjoyments of Keith’s ministry has been to mentor several men in pastoral studies, some of whom are presently serving churches in our Baptist Convention. Keith has a pastor’s heart and a heart for the local church fulfilling its God given mission. His greatest strengths have been in motivating and encouraging the congregations he has served.
Keith sees the role of the Director of Missions as one of assisting churches to accomplish their unique God given mission. His vision is to see our association of churches network together in meaningful ways to fulfill the Great Commission in our communities, country and around the world. He believes all churches are important to God, no matter the size. It is his desire to minister in a role where he can assist, resource and encourage pastors and churches to accomplish their mission. Keith believes that God has put it into his heart to follow the Lord’s call to serve as Director of Missions for the Potomac Baptist Association. He looks forward to serving the churches of the Potomac Baptist Association.
