Q1Arteries, capillaries and veins are different types of blood vessel in the human body.

a)Illustrating your answer with suitable diagrams, explain the commonalities and differences between arteries and veins.

b)Illustrating your answer with a suitable diagram, explainhow capillaries are different from large blood vessels, but also any features that they might share with them.

Q2Use a labelled diagram toshow the flow of blood in the mammalian circulation. Then explain why it is called ‘mammalian double circulation’.

Q3Carry out a dissection of a mammalian heart in class and take a photograph of the dissected heart. Alternatively, obtain a photograph of a dissected mammalian heart elsewhere. Paste your photograph in the space below, and label the structures that you can identify.
