FY 2018/2019 - FY 2022/2023 FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) DRAFT TENTATIVE WORK PROGRAM

Purpose: To review the FDOTDraft Tentative WorkProgram for FY 2018/2019 - FY 2022/2023

Agenda Item Presented by:MPO Staff

Discussion:

The MPO Board and its Committees annually review FDOT’s Draft Tentative Work Program, which includes the new fifth year (FY 2022/2023) of project programming based upon State and MPO priorities. On May 1, 2017, the MPO Board adopted its project priorities for this year and submitted them to FDOT (See Attachment 1) for inclusion in the FDOT Draft Tentative Work Program to the extent possible. The Draft Tentative Work Program will form the basis for the MPO’s next Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) to be adopted and submitted to FDOT not later than July 15, 2018 and FDOT’s Adopted Work Program, which will be adopted on July 1, 2018. For federal funding to flow to the state and local governments, the TIP and FDOT’s Work Program must be consistent.

At the time of preparation of this Agenda item, FDOT was still in the process of developing its Draft Tentative Work Program for Charlotte County. The Draft Tentative Work Program is scheduled to be released no later than October 16, 2017, but is not available for inclusion in this packet. FDOT has indicated they anticipate its FY 2018/2018 – FY 2022/2023 FDOT Draft Tentative Work Program before the October 19, 2017 meeting. FDOT will provide a summary of the Draft Tentative Work Program, highlighting changes and solicit member comments and clarifications, and MPO Staff will email the summary to members when it is made available.

Recommendation:Review the FDOT Draft Tentative Work Program for FY 2018/2019 - FY 2022/2023
