Fundraising agreement for the Bicentennial Penny Drive

Introduction

As the bicentennial of Missouri’s statehood approaches, Missouri Humanities Council in partnership with participating accredited Missouri public elementary and intermediate schools seeks to preserve the state’s history by engaging in fundraising activities to collect sufficient funds for the preservation of important founding state documents.

Purpose

The purpose of this Agreement is to codify the partnership between Missouri Humanities Council and participating Missouri public school towards the effort of funding the conservation of documents related to Missouri’s admission into the Union.

Administration

Missouri Humanities Council is responsible for organization and promotion of the Bicentennial Penny Drive. All money raised shall be deposited in an account at a bank or other federally insured financial institution which Missouri Humanities Council will maintain and administer. Missouri Humanities Council agrees to use all funds collected from participating Missouri public school for the conservation, restoration, and display of Missouri state founding documents. All excess funds not used for the conservation of Missouri state founding documents will be used to fund the digitization and publication of the Missouri Encyclopedia by the State Historical Society of Missouri.

Participating Missouri public school is responsible for collecting donations for the conservation of Missouri state founding documents by a penny drive in accordance with the following schedule: a five consecutive school day fundraiser to be scheduled during the 2018 spring academic calendar. Specific dates of fundraising activities may be changed by mutual agreement.

Duration

This Agreement is effective when the “Bicentennial Penny Drive Participation Request Form” is signed by a school official and will continue until the agreed upon date. Either party may leave this Agreement at any time.

Authority

Nothing in this Agreement is legally binding on any party nor intended to conflict with existing law or regulation. Any misunderstanding will be resolved between Missouri Humanities Council and participating Missouri public school.
