Beulah Park District held its July monthly meeting on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 at Park District Office at 5:30 p.m.
Present: Robby Volk, Kris Martens, Deb Schlecht,Rick Alexander, Lucas Duncan, Bob Mohl& Deb Bonebrake, Rob Skalsky
Absent:Jim Nelson & Bridgette Martens
Agenda: Add Pump under New Business. R. Alexandermade a motion to approve agenda. K. Martensseconded. All in favor. Motion passed.
Batting Cage @ Softball Complex:Rob wants to put up a Batting Cage (72-14) with cement pads. Price is ~$5,245.00 would like approval and information for Matching Grant. See attached information sheets. We need to look @ space to put it.
R. Alexander made a motion to approve adding Batting Cage pending site approval to Softball Complex. D. Schlecht seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.
Minutes: A motion was made by D. Schlechtto approve the minutes to last month’s meeting. Secondedby R. Alexander. All in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by K. Martensto approve the Financial Report and the Profit and Loss Statements. Seconded byR. Alexander. All in favor. Motion carried.
A motion was made by D. Schlecht to approve the Vendor Report. Seconded by R. Alexander. All in favor. Motion carried.
Staff Report:
Martens:Martens provided her written report for each of the Commissioners. Report was read by R. Alexander. See Attached
Duncan:Duncan provided his written report for each of the Commissioners. See attached report.

Park Walk-Around:
Pump for Old Drag:K. Martens stated he could get a remanufactured pump for ~$750.00 if core on old pump is good, an additional $400+ if core is bad. $2,000 for a new pump. Turtle Lake is interested in purchasing old drag if running in the $4,000 – 6,000 range.
D. Schlecht made a motion to purchase a Remanufactured pump for the old drag. R. Alexander seconded. All in favor. Motion passed.
Wellness Center:Martens provided her written report for each of the Commissioners. Report was read by R. Alexander. See Attached
Beulah Bay:D. Schlecht discussed moving rental docks to where strait dock is. Board agreed to move docks.
Hydrant on site #83 needs to be replaced.
Fishin’ 4 A Cure – would like to see kids in the area get money not just Dickinson area.
Discussed Fire Ban – decided in windy conditions there should be no fires.
Friends of Beulah Bay – haven’t received minutes; will forward ours as soon as we can.
Baseball/Softball Update:See Duncan’s attached report.
West River Transit busing is going well. Baseball Boosters are not happy that we are not using the bus.

Troy Park:Basketball court asphalt in need of work.
Gateway Park:Basketball court asphalt in need of work.
Swing set hardware is shot / remove swing.

Benches need to be removed or repaired.
Century 5th Park:Swing set hardware is shot / remove swing.
Playground is in decent shape.
Basketball court needs to be painted & new nets.
