SECTION 2. SYSTEM DESCRIPTIONS:

The system is called DD Linotop and is compiled of 15mm particle foam; 2 x 1mm thick galvanized steel sheeting and 4mm Linoleum. The Linoleum is manufactured from: Cork, tree resins, chalk, linseed oil and jute. The lifespan is particularly long and should last at least 15 years. The life span expected of the other components again is very long. A manufacturer’s product brochure is also provided.

This system meets and surpasses the DIN 18032 part 2 and BS 7044 part 4 requirements for sport floors.

The adhesive used is Mapei G20. This adhesive has been especially developed to perform in the situation it has been used for in this instance.

The game lines have been painted with a two part polyurethane paint. The normal lifespan of the lines is between 3-5 years depending on the amount of use the floor is exposed to.

SECTION 3. SCHEDULES:

Armstrong DLW has manufactured the system DD Linotop. The address is Stuttgarter Strasse 75. 74321 Bietigheim-BissingenGermany.

Kipp GmbH produced the paint. The address is Murrstrasse 1, D70806, Kornwestheim, Germany.

Mapei UK Ltd produces the adhesive. The address is Mapei House, Steel Park Road, Halesowen, West Midlands B62 8HD. Tel: 0121 5086970.

SECTION 4. OPERATION:

The system DLW Linotop has been designed to perform to the exacting International standards for indoor sport floor use. It is a multi-sport and multi-purpose sport floor, meaning; not only can it operate to the requirements of a wide variety of sport, basketball, netball, 5 a side, indoor cricket (indoor balls) and volleyball etc. The system is resistant to scuffs from hockey sticks; stiletto heals and burns from cigarettes, allowing the floor to be used for social events in addition to its sports function.

The weight loading of the system meets and surpasses the requirements as set out in the new BSEN 14904: 1500N, 300 revolutions over a distance of 1m with a wheel made of steel (width: 30mm; diameter 100mm). The axial load is 1500N.
From this test the following conclusions can be drawn: A trolley with 4 wheels corresponding to the dimensions mentioned above can be loaded with 6000N (600kp).

However, you must be aware that the type, width and shape of the wheel will have an impact on the conclusions; therefore you must not excessively over-load any type of trolleys or transport vehicle used on the sport floor. We strongly advise the use of trolleys fitted with 4x300mm diameter pneumatic tyre wheels, which will help spread the point and rolling load. Again please be aware of excessively over-loading trolleys etc.

Cleaning and Maintenance Schedule

For further advice on heavy soiling still remaining after cleaning process, please contact the recommended cleaning product supplier.

Regular cleaning, as well as intensive cleaning prevent the surface becoming slippery and reduces the risk of accidents.

Make sure that no cleaning water penetrates into any of the access chambers for the sports equipment, or into the sub floor construction. If the sports hall is not used for a long time, the covers of the access chambers for any sports equipment must be removed.

At the entrances to the sports hall, large dirt-catching surfaces must be provided.

Residues of tobacco or burns can be removed with scouring powder and coarse Nylpads.

Chewing gum and resin can be removed with cold spray.

Lines can be drawn on the linoleum with a special two-part PU colour applied in compliance with sporting rules and regulations, ideally by a specialist.

4 Runner Ltd, as and when it is required, can carry out the maintenance of the floor and also the lines.

SECTION 6. Test sheets:
