Therearetwolevels,completionofformandtrainingonutilizationofforms

CRPfairs:EsthersharedinformationontheCRPfairs.Bangorishostingthemtwiceamonth.4-5CRP’sattendingand12clientssignedup.CRP’spreferredthismeetandgreetastheyhavetheopportunitytomeetwithanumberofclientsandcollaboratewithotherCRPagencies.Theyareofferingthefairsintheafternoonfrom2-4toallowformoremeetingspace.Thiswouldalsoallowfortransitionstudentstoattendafterschoolletsout.Twoprovidersattendedandwerenotinterviewed.

AugustawillhosttheirfirstfaironFebruary26thfrom9am-11amattheAugustaCareerCenter;invitationssentouttoCRPsincludingexpectationthatthedeveloperssenttothefairarethedeveloperswhowillworkwiththeclients. 10employmentspecialists from6agencies haverespondedandplantoattend. RachelandElinorworkingwithVRstaffregardingappropriatereferrals.

Itisimportantforcounselorsandclientstomeetbeforeattending thefairtodiscusstheclient’sIPE goalsothattheywillmeetwithproviderswhomayhavethisasaspecialty. CounselorswillhavetheopportunitytopreparetheclientfortheCRPmeetings. CounselorsmaychoosetoattendtheFairwiththeirclientsordiscusstheirclients’experiencesandchoicesfollowingtheFair. Counselorswill alsohavethechoiceofcompletingthereferralpacketaheadoftimeinorderfortheirclientstosubmitthemdirectlytothechosenCRPonthedayofthefair,ifapplicable. Releaseofinformationformswouldbecompletedwiththeassistanceofthefairfacilitators.

Theyarealsobeingaskedtoprovidesomestatisticalhistoryofservicedelivery sothatwemaycalculatetheexpected capacityandfinancialsustainabilityofapotentialCRPwhomaystepforwardtoprovideservicestothedeafcommunity.

TrainingcostsfordeafindividualswhopursueCRPtrainingwouldbecoveredbyVRclientcaseloadfunds.

RequirementsforbothdeafandhearingCRP’swillbetiedtoanobjectivelanguageassessmenttoassesstheperson’sabilitytobeASLproficient.

Employmentspecialistsandtheirsupervisorswouldbeexpectedtocompleteadditionaltrainingmoduletargetingskillsetrelatedtoemploymentservicesfordeafclients.
