Attached to this memorandum, please find copies of application/ nomination forms for the 2018 Greek Awards. These awards will be given at the Order of Omega Greek Awards Ceremony and Banquet on April 18, 2018 and the location is the North River Yacht Club.

Each year, Order of Omega seeks to recognize outstanding accomplishment among individual members and chapters of the Alabama Greek System. Review enclosed forms to ascertain the award categories for which you or other chapter members deserve accolades for achievements throughout the year, and please make every effort to apply for all applicable awards.

OUTSTANDING GREEK MAN OF THE YEAR

The Beta Alpha Chapter of Order of Omega was established at the University of Alabama in 1974 to recognize and promote outstanding achievement among individuals affiliated with campus sororities and fraternities. Goals of the Order of Omega include: 1) recognizing students who have attained a standard of leadership in inter-Greek activities; 2) encouraging these students to continue a commitment to academics and philanthropy; 3) inspiring others to achieve similar goals; and 4) bringing together faculty, staff, alumni, and student members of University sororities and fraternities in pursuit of endeavors promoting mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness within campus and local communities.

The Order of Omega Award for OUTSTANDING GREEK MAN OF THE YEAR is presented annually to a senior fraternity member for exceptional contributions to the chapter, the Greek system, and the University reflecting the Objectives of The Order of Omega. In determining the recipient of this award, the selection committee considers the nominee’s active participation in the chapter, inter-Greek leadership, academic achievements and honors, campus and community service, and involvement in endeavors promoting productive interaction with other campus constituents, including non-affiliated students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Tuscaloosa community.
