Hello,

Best wishes from Mordovia, Russia!

Let me tell a few words about myself.

I was born on November, 14th, 1978 in a wonderful place of the world in Mordovia. At the age of 6 I entered Bolshie Berezniki secondary school #1. I was not the best student but not the worst. Usually I got good marks. My favourite subjects at school were History, Geography, IT and of course English. I was the best in English in our class. I liked this subject very much and always dreamt about faraway countries where I could communicate to people using English. the country I always want to visit is the USA. During classes I often tell my students abut life in America, its sightseengs, nature, cities and people. when I have a time I usually listen to US radio, watch original films, read news about this country. I believe that one day I'll be able to see one of the greatest countries in the world.

One of my relatives was a translator and he knew 12 languages. I always wanted to be like him. I believed that one day my dream will come to life and I will be able to go abroad to see how people live there.

So it was not a surprise for all when after graduating school in 1995 I entered the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Mordovia State University. There I learnt two languages - English and French. I was motivated by the idea that learning European languages is essential for living and working in multicultural world. Only knowing language you start to understand people, discover how and why they think, their customs and beliefs. Also I studied on Faculty of Psychology. So I graduated the University with 2 Diploma of Higher educations.

After graduating I started to work in school as a teacher of English. There was not an IT teacher so I was offered to teach this subject. There is a wonderful proverb - “If you want to learn yourself start to teach it”. So my students have good knowledge in IT. But in the same time I teach them English. In our school I started the penpal project work. This idea was successful and it resulted to improving knowledge in English. Now we have penpals around the world and can communicate with people of different cultures. I also have my own penpals from different parts of the world. It is so nice to have friends and speak to them using Internet.

A huge world is open to us thanks to ENGLISH and IT.

We are always together. In the evening my students come back to school and we do many different activities such as arts and craft creativity, learning how to operate computers or just talking about interesting things for us.

I like to participate in professional contests. Usually I have them 5-6 times a year.

In 2002 and 2004 I took part in Republican contest “Teacher of the year”. There I got the 7th place but win in three nominations. Last year I was granted as the best teacher in our area. Also I presented my own educational program and in was recommended for using in all republican institutions of additional education. The last three years I organize contests on English and IT in our area myself. All my pedagogical ideas and works anyone can find on my personal site. The number of visitors is increasing monthly. Now they are about 10,000 per month.

The school integrated my life and we became a single whole. I like my work very much.

I have a lot of hobbies. I like to read, go fishing and taking pictures of wildlife, play the guitar and write my own songs and poems. I have also long living hobbies too. They are collecting stamps and coins. I have been collecting since 1986. My students like to watch them and always ask me different questions.

That is almost all about me.

Best wishes

Your sincere…
