Awarded for an individual or team that has made a significant difference to public sector administration and/or service delivery, and exceeded their scope of work by demonstrating excellence in public administration or management. The recipient(s) will have demonstrated innovation and leading practice through their initiative, program or project; effective engagement with relevant internal/external stakeholders and improved service delivery for the Tasmanian community.

Who can nominate

Individuals and teams working in the public sector across all local, state and federal government agencies and organisations in Tasmania. This includes government owned corporations, statutory authorities and the tertiary education sector.

Judging process

All nominations will undergo a short listing process. If short listed the nominator may be asked to attend an interview and provide additional information for the judging panel.

Awards are offered in the following 5 categories:

  • Communication/Change Management
  • People and Diversity Development
  • Public Infrastructure Development
  • Policy Development
  • Service Delivery

All criterion for each award will be scored equally

Communication/Change Management

Nominator Statement
Provide a dot point summary of the individual/ team’s achievements and contribution to excellence in public administration in recent years – 1400 words total.
Criterion 1. Addresses a recognised and clearly articulated need
Criterion 2. Uses the most effectual communication channels
Criterion 3. Engages purposefully with its intended audience
Criterion 4. Demonstrates measurable public value
Criterion 5. Supports the organisation’s business objectives
Criterion 6. Provides evidence of efficient use of funds to deliver outcomes e.g. expenditure vs ROI
Criterion 7. Is comprehensively evaluated for meeting its communication objectives
