This class is designed to help build on the foundations needed for success in Algebra 1. We will spend a majority of our time focused on the skills needed to do this. We will also take a portion of our time to reinforce what is being taught in the Algebra 1 class.

Due to the nature of the class, most of our work will be done in the classroom. Most of the class time will be spent on activities that enrich the students understanding of the major algebra concepts. Any remaining class time will be spent working on work that was assigned in the Algebra 1 class.

Since this is a lab class and most of the work will be done in class, it is important that students are present every day. Grades will be given each day based on participation. If a student has an unexcused absence, the grade for that day will be a zero. If the absence is excused, the student will be exempted.

The expectation for this class is that students come to class prepared and ready to work each day. While the atmosphere in this class will be a bit more relaxed; this in no way excuses bad behavior or poor attitude. You can expect me to be ready each day and to have a positive attitude – and should expect yourself and the rest of the class to do the same.

I encourage you to ask questions. I will be happy assist you in any way that I can to help make your experience at AndersonCountyHigh School the best it can be.
