FULL-DAY OPTIONS

Come spend a week with us! We have designed a camp that is perfect for four- and five-year olds (those entering Pre-K or Kindergarten in the fall). We will explore a new theme each day and enjoy arts and crafts, nature and exploration activities, and games. All campers must be age four by the start of camp.

Our traditional camp program encompasses the spirit of summer fun and places an emphasis on camaraderie and personal growth. Camp activities will include art, sports and games, nature, and other exciting outdoor adventures on the over 40 acres of Powhatan’s Crocker Conservancy!

Join us for an exciting week of fun and adventure! Campers will go on a different excursion every day – hiking, kayaking, swimming, and a few mystery field trips are planned for the week.

Come and create a fairy tale with friends! Act, sing, and dance the week away,transforminginto a classic fairy tale character in a show created by you and your fellow campers! A family friendly fairy tale show will be presentedon Friday of camp week.

This camp will put you in the spotlight! Included will be training inacting,singing, and stage dance movement as well ashow to successfullyaudition, write a resume, and performa monologueor solo. And, everyonewill get a headshot! Family and friends will be invited to a performance on the final day ofcamp.

HALF-DAY OPTIONS

Do you like to discover, build, and create new things? If so, this camp is for you! Campers will design and build projects using standard and recycled products. Join other students to work in the Maker Space to complete challenges and think like an engineer.

Create amazing characters and awesome comics that can be used in a mini-graphic novel or full-color strip. Campers will learn to apply imaginative ideas to the creation of comics, illustrated stories, and cartoon characters.

There's no better way to connect with nature than doing yoga outside! Powhatan's campus is the perfect backdrop for your camper to go on a yoga adventure. We will explore yoga poses, breathing, and meditation. Campers will practice mindfulness, relaxation techniques, and how to build their own yoga sequence.

Come explore cooking in this hands-on and fun-filled class! Campers willlearn about different world cultures by cooking and tasting delicious dishesfrom countries around the globe. Activities will include the use of kid-friendly recipes, cooking techniques, basic etiquette, kitchen safety, measurement and kitchen math.

Powhatan Basketball Camp is designed to provide campers with the opportunity to develop their basketball skills while offering an atmosphere that fosters cooperative learning. This camp is filled with station drills, individual instruction, games, contests and more! Campers will enjoy the enthusiasm of the camp while developing their skills.

Volleyball camp will excite students about the fun competition of volleyball and the importance of team play. Players will develop and refine fundamental skills including serving, passing, setting, and hitting. Skills-based drills, as well as 3 vs. 3 and 6 vs. 6 competition drills, will be used daily in tournament-style competition to apply these skills. The camp will focus on all aspects of the game with emphasis on fundamental skill development from the beginner to the more experienced player.
