Congratulations to our Tiger Ticket winners at the last Spirit Assembly, Ellie, Karsyn, Lily, Ava, Noah, Benjamin, Allyson, Hailey, Holden and all of Mrs. Cook's class. We also want to recognize our previous winners, Chris, Cole, Ruby and Oliva. Thank you for showing your ROAR!
Tesoro del Valle will be recognizing Patriot Day onSeptember 9that a school wide assembly at8:10 am. All First Responders are invited to join us for recognition. Please sign up on the information sheet that came home or call the office for more information.
Once again, Hands-On Santa Clarita will be collecting items from the list below for service men and women overseas for their 9/11 event at the Valencia Town Center. You can help by bringing in any donations to our school byThursday, September 8th:
  • Beef Jerky, Slim Jims
  • Drink Packet (for individual water bottles)
  • Individual Packets of Trail Mix, Fruit Snacks, Dried Fruits and Nuts, Pringles, Protein Bars, Granola Bars
  • Canned Meats and Fruits with Pop-Tops
  • Plastic Jars of Peanut Butter
  • Crackers
  • Candy (no chocolate)
  • Chapstick, Unscented Baby Wipes/Lotion/Hand Sanitizer, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Solid (not Gel) Deodorant, Body Wash, Medicated Foot Powder
  • 3 or 4 Blade Razors, AA batteries, Playing Cards
Letters of Appreciation
The City of Santa Clarita is looking for volunteers for the 9/11 Day of Service onSaturday, September 10th. Volunteers are needed for projects at local nonprofits and city sites. You must sign up in advance at The City is also honoring those who lost their lives during the attack and those who served after the attacks at the 9/11 Day of Remembrance at12:30 pmat the Valencia Town Center.
School Site Council Meetings will resume in September. The basic responsibility of the Site Council is to provide input to the site administrator in matters pertaining to our School Plan and budget. We still need at least one more parent to serve on the council. Please contact the office if you are interested.
Please remember to visit the district website and update your parent portal. You will also have access to the Parent/Student Handbook, which includes information regarding rules, procedures, dress code, etc.
Please use the valet line for drop off and pick up. If your child has signed up to participate in the valet or escort program, please remind them to be diligent in honoring their commitment *students should arrive at7:45 a.m.on their appointed day(s). Please have your children use designated crosswalks at all times. Safety is our number one concern.
We ask that students coming to school (grades 1-6) enter the playground using the front gate. Kindergarten students and parents please enter through the side gate. The gates open at7:50 am.

SAFETY
Please be courteous and follow the safety guidelines in the parking lot and around the school.The safety of all our students is our number one concern. Please help us by following these rules when dropping your students off in the morning and picking them up in the afternoon. Please drive slowly in the Parking Lot.
Please enter Bernardo Way from Mission Trail. Mission Trail can be accessed from Rio Ranch Way. Please avoid taking Mission Trail from Rancho Tesoro Drive.
If you are parking and walking up:
  • If you are walking your child on to the campus, please use the sidewalks. Do not walk through the parking lot or through the drop-off lane.
  • Please park on the school side of the street. If you park on the opposite side of the street, please cross above the exit driveway. It is unsafe to cross through cars leaving the driveway.
  • Avoid using Tango Drive to make u-turns and for drop off. This is a private street and it has no sidewalks.
If you are using the valet line:
  • Drop-off begins at7:50 am. There is no supervision before this time.
  • Only right turns will be allowed when entering and exiting the driveway.
  • Make one lane only. Students can only be dropped off on the school side.
  • The valet zone begins after the blue crosswalk. Students should not exit your car before you reach this area.
  • Please pull all the way up. Once you are stopped, have students exit the car. Do not wait to pull up to the first spot.
  • Students should remain in their seat belts until you have stopped to let them out.
  • Do not drop your Kindergartner off at the Kindergarten gate.
  • Do not exit your car. Students need to be ready to exit the car with backpacks, etc.
  • Please do not put backpacks in the trunk.
  • Please be patient. Do not honk at the cars in front of you.
  • The parking spaces are for staff parking only. Do not use them for student drop-off.

Please remember to call the office before9:00 a.m.the morning that your student will be absent from school. The State of California requires a specific reason, "not feeling well" or "sick" are not acceptable. Please let us know if your child has a cold, is vomiting, is out of town, etc. Thank you.

You may access the Santa Clarita Valley School Food Services Agency website at view the breakfast/lunch menus or to pay on line. You may also go directly to
Saugus Educational Technology team, Mia Standley and Kathleen Perdisatt, will be hosting Educational Technology in the SUSD Parent Nights. Come and learn about educational technology practices in the classrooms, district supported websites, and strategies to help your child at home. Childcare is provided.

Look for the Annual Spirit Wear Forms coming home today! Please remember this is the only time to order Spirit Wear for the 2016 - 2017 school year. Forms are due no later September 7th.
