Simplicity Lunch, hosted by HelenOsborn, to raise money for the Howard League (celebrating 150 years).It highlights conditions in prisons and promotes a more humane response to offending and rehabilitation.

Information

Special Collections: The December collection raised £288.52 for Quaker Homeless Action.

The February collection is for BRASS (Bedfordshire Refugee and Asylum Seeker Support). It seeks to “empower, inform and support refugees and asylum seekers and to protect their rights with the aim of developing independence and involvement in UK society” and faces increasing demands in the present international refugee crisis.

Revision of Quaker Faith and Practice: in preparation for the revision of QFP, we are all encouraged to read it in a systematic way during the next 18 months. Chapters 5 and 6 are the ones suggested for February 2016.

‘Becoming Friends’ –this study course is available at any time for newcomers or anyone who is wanting to deepen/widen their knowledge of Quakers. Helen and Sherry are trained as facilitators and flexible as to timing and frequency of discussions. See the notice on the Library board; several workbooks are on the Library shelves.

Kindlers on the Road Workshops in Bedford: Elders and Overseers have found two courses that may be of interest to Members and Attenders. A poster will be put up shortly asking for interest in the courses. They are open to anyone who attends Meeting. You can put your name down for one or both.They are "Vocal Ministry in Worship"and "What does Love require of Us". Look out for the poster with brief description of each course.

‘Passion and Power, Compassion and Love’: a reflective morning from 10 – 1 on Mon 21st March at Leighton Buzzard Meeting House, open to anyone. More details on corridor notice board, and from Terry Oakley 0798 9872 809 or .

Kindlers on the Road Workshops in London:a spring series at Friends House, on the theme of ‘Creativity and Spirituality’. 20th Feb: ‘Embodied Worship’ with a focus on movement and dance; 19th March ‘To listen and to speak’ with a focus on spoken and written words, and singing.
