Your Partnership with Sustrans

To ensure that our partnership with you is positive, enjoyable and productive, this information explains what we can expect of each other.

We provide:

·  Support and necessary training through our regional and national offices

·  role guidance or advice from your staff supervisor so you can undertake your activities with confidence

·  regular newsletters to keep you informed

·  a handbook to guide you through your volunteer tasks and a website with volunteer specific information and updates as well as a forum to exchange ideas with other volunteers

·  local key contact details of other volunteers so you can work together

·  risk assessment guidance so you will be safe

·  public liability insurance whilst undertaking volunteer work approved by us

·  agreed expenses so no one need be excluded from volunteering on the grounds of income.

Sustrans may share your contact details with volunteers, staff and close partners so we can work together more effectively.

You agree to:

·  Promote the aims and values of Sustrans

·  perform your role as agreed with your group co-ordinator or staff supervisor

·  follow Sustrans volunteer guidelines as supplied in your welcome pack, on VolunteerNet or by your supervisor

·  use Sustrans’ risk assessment procedures to help ensure that your activities are safe for all participants

·  attend local training events and volunteer group meetings

·  work co-operatively as part of a team with other Sustrans volunteers, staff and partners

·  respond to communications from Sustrans or your group co-ordinator

·  report back on your activities if requested

·  respect the confidentiality of other volunteer contact details

·  inform Sustrans if you are unable carry out your agreed tasks.
