Reports

Chairman

Our finals day on the 15th December went well, much better to only have the finals which started at 2pm followed by coffee and mince pies. The round robin started about 4pm which wasn't rushed and was more enjoyable. This was followed with the fish and chips at about 6pm, organised and collected by Jenny and Richard which was enjoyed by all, many thanks to them both.

Secretary

The certificates for the prize giving dinner have been printed and given to John together with the doubles runner up cup. A copy of the "table place names" file will be emailed to John with the minutes of the meeting.

As the funds were in good health it was suggested and agreed to review the green fees before the next AGM.

Captain

The winter league continues to go well - considering the weather, sickness and holidays etc. I guess its something all clubs need to contend with at this time of year.

I am struggling to find 16 fit and available players for some of the games coming up.Hopefully this will resolve itself as we go along.

I thought the games on Finals day, singles and doubles, were excellent and of a very high standard. Well done to all concerned.

A list will go up for this years internal competition. This year, there will be no automatic entry to the competition - only members who enter their names on the list, will take part. The playing time for the doubles turned out to be too long – especially trying to fit it into roll-up nights. So some adjustments will be made.

But prize money will stay the same !!!!! :

Hall Representative

The hall committee noted that with a number of cancellations due to the bad weather the income was only just meeting expenses. As the result they are holding a wine tasting on Saturday 16th March at 8.00pm at the village hall. Support would be appreciated.

A.O.B

The Annual Dinner was selected and it was agreed to subsidise the meal at £5.00 as in previous years, so the cost will be £17.50 per person. A notice will be put on the notice board so members can chose their meal.

Somersham inter-village match will be held at Bealings this year on Saturday 27th April. Steve will do a notice for members wishing to participate and Jenny will organise the fish and chips. The committee will run the event.

John will arrange with the calligrapher to have the wall plaques updated with the 2011 and 2012 winners.

It was agreed that the membership of the club was closed, but as Les and Maurice had been invited along to the Tuesday afternoon roll-up, it was agreed to allow to join if they wished.

Summer League - It was agreed to take part this year, Steve indicated that he wished for someone else to organise, Nigel indicated that he was prepared to do it with help.

Date of next meeting

The meeting will be held on 17th April 2013commencing at 6.30pm.
