1.CONTEST SITE - CHECK IN

A monitor will meet your busses at the unloading area indicated in the map. Please check in and check out at the contest office. Check in consists of turning in numbered judges' scores,reviewing the seating chart and the announcer’s script.

2.UNLOADING AND LOADING

The busses will unload in the horseshoe in front of the school. Equipment truck may unload and park in faculty parking lot near the scene shop loading dock. We will not be able to store all of a school’s percussion equipment in the school between bands. Please remember to bring equipment managers to move your school’s percussion equipment before and after your stage performance.Busses will park across the street in the area beyond the band tower while the band is performing. Once sight reading is completed, the busses may pull up to those same doors.

3.STORAGE AND DRESSING

There are restrooms and water fountains available between the warm up room and the stage in the front foyer. It is recommended that you leave all cases on the bus.If that is not possible, we will locate a safe place for storage outside the school.

4.CONCERT EQUIPMENT

Haltom High School will provide the following:

1. Concert Bass Drum (bring your own beaters)

2. 4 1/3 octave Marimba (use yarn or rubber mallets only)

3. Chimes (please bring your own mallets)

4. 5Timpani

5. Vibes (no motor)

6. Bells

7. Xylophone

8. Tuner and metronome for the warmup room.

9. Risers 8"- 4; 16" - 4; 24" - 4; 2 adjustable pie pieces

10. A piano is available (please note this in advance)

5.SCHEDULE

Sub Non-varsity bands will be on a 25-minute schedule including set up. That means a 20minute warm up and a 5 minute transition to the stage. Non-varsitybands will be on a 30-minute schedule including set up. That means a 25 minute warm up and a 5 minute transition to the stage. Varsity bands will have a 45-minute schedule including set up. That means a 40 minute warm up and a 5 minute transition. Percussion students will be taken to the stage 10 minutes before performance.

6.SIGHTREADING PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT PROVIDED BY HALTOM HIGH SCHOOL:

Bass Drum

Timpani

Bells

Marimba

Xylophone

Please make sure you have the sight reading percussion accessories even if you do not use that instrument on stage.

7.CHECK OUT

After performing please come to the contest office to receive your sheets, recordings and awards. There is a check out list that you will need to sign. The busses will be able to pull up to the horseshoe for reloading.

9.IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Please be aware that classes at Haltomwill be in session during the day.

We will not be able to furnish mallets, sticks, beaters, snare drums, or any other accessories.

Please email your seating chart and completed announcers script by Monday, April 16.
