Hello Fellow Campers,

Where has the summer gone? As the cooler nights come upon us and the kids get ready to go back to school, we all must start to think about closing up for another season. We do still have one more long weekend to look forward to. Labor Day, this is Halloween at Bayview Lodge, so get ready to be scared. Your committee has put a pile of work into making this weekend a success. I look forward to seeing all of you at the many events that we do have planned.

This year has been a real pleasure to be President of the Bayview Lodge Social Committee. I have got to meet and work with many more seasonal campers this year, than in the past. It is truly humbling what you can learn from every person you meet and how their ideas can develop into something great. For this opportunity I say thank you. As always, I would like to thank the committee who have from time to time wondered what road we were going down but always had the guts to try. With their hard work they helped pull off every idea we have had and made it a reality. Who will ever forget Jimmy, Grady and Jamie in their evening gowns at “The Price is Right”? So over the long weekend when you see the volunteers or committee members please take a moment just to say thanks, they really do invest a lot of time into this.

As well, I also want to thank all the campers who do come out to the events and participate because without you, we would just be some crazy people with a bunch of props. I have heard people say over the years that being on a committee like this is a thankless job. I am afraid I have to disagree. We as a group are told all the time how much people enjoy the events and my favorite, why I do it, is that great big smile on a little kid’s face.

We can’t forget Walter and Elvira who donate their staff, their time and let’s be honest a significant amount of money. It has been heard that when I approach Walter he asks “how much will this cost me.” It is all in fun! Walter and Elvira are a real pleasure to work with and as this will be my 3rd set owners while on a committee, I truly enjoy dealing with them. That is half the battle!

I would like to remind everyone that there will be a vote, again this year, for your 2011 committee. This will take place at the end of season Gala that will take place on Saturday, September 11th, at 11am at the rec. hall. I have been informed that almost all of the previous committee would like to run again. I myself would love another opportunity to head up the amazing group of people who form your committee. So I will run again. Please make sure to come out to the Gala, your vote does matter and if there is anyone wishing to run please contact myself for a list of positions that will be available or if there is someone you want to run against.

I would like to wish everyone a safe and fun filled long weekend.

Let’s get this party started.

Cheers,

Shelley England

President

REMINDER TO ALL CAMPERS!

RECYCLING:

We are very proud of all the campers that use the recycling bins on a regular basis. Of course, we can always improve!

Please note that on each recycle bin there is a sign indicating what should be in that bin, please take the time to sort your recyclables. In this area, there is a container for plastic. This container should only be filled with plastic bottles not plastic packaging. That packaging goes in another bin. Also, please not that in the cardboard bin, all of your cardboard boxes should be collapsed in order to have enough room for everyone’s cardboard.

Thank you, in advance, for sorting and recycling as much as possible!

PUBLIC WASHROOMS:

If you use paper towel in the washrooms, be sure to put it in the garbage bins when you are done. Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilets. Following this rule will minimize our bathrooms from being out of order!

These are standard park rules! Thank you for your support!
