Information and Consent Form

Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading program for elementary fifth- and sixth-grade students designed to promote reading through a team competition. Students participate with their team in three battles during the year at your school. Each battle will include questions from four of the Battle of the Books titles. Please refer to the attached list for the books included in each battle.

Teams earn points for answering questions completely and correctly. Points for each of the three battles are totaled, and a winning team is announced at the end of the third battle. The top scoring team represents your school at the District Semi-Final competition, which includes questions from all twelve books. Top scoring teams at this event have a chance to advance to the District Championship and Regional competitions.

Please read the following guidelines and expectations for Battle of the Books. Sign the attached form and send it back to school with your child.
