Basic AHED Installation Instructions

Uninstall Old Version

Make sure to uninstall any previous version of AHED. Find AHED in your Apps, and right-click on it:

Choose Uninstall. Another window will pop up. Select AHED, and click Uninstall on this dialog:

Pre-Installation Conditions:

Windows 10 users can probably skip this step.

If you are using Windows 7, you may need to insure that you have the current version of .NET Framework 4.5. Before the AHED application can be installed, the .NET 4.5 Framework must be present on the computer. To install this use your web browser to navigate to Click the ‘download” button, save and run the file.

Run the “dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe” file once it has finished downloading, and proceed with the .NET installation using default installation options. If you already have an up-to-date .NET, the installation will tell you so.

Using your web browser, navigate to “

Click the “here” that is purple in this image. The download dialog will appear, select the “Save” option.

Once the download is complete, navigate to your Downloads directory, right-click on the installation package just downloaded, and select “Properties”.

Click on the “Unblock” box to let Windows know that this file is okay, click “Apply”, and finally “OK”.

Extraction:

Right-click on the installation package just downloaded, and select “Extract All…”.

This will use the Windows built-in extractor. If you prefer another tool, you can use it.

Take the default to extract it in a sub-directory in your Downloads folder. Simply click “Extract”.

The new directory with the extracted files should open automatically.

Right-click “setup.exe”, and select “Run as administrator”.

A confirmation dialog will pop up. Click “Yes”. An Installshield Wizard will pop up:

Take the defaults, which should be “Next”, “Next”, …“Finish”

Launching:

Once the installer has completed, you will see the AHED icon on your desktop.

This icon can be double clicked to launch the AHED application.
