P1 Issues
P1/2 Issues / Colour curriculum rationale
Jay, Jessica D – star is really bright
Kyle – it is so bright
Jake, Orr, Brian, Evie – I like the colour of the red
Sophie – because it represents our school colour red
Daniel y – they are in boxes
Alastair – red is my favourite colour
Zander, Daniel M – blue is my favourite colour
Joshua – It has the shooting star
Ava – I like the colours
Alexa, Eryn – I like the song reach for the Stars
Kayla – I like the rainbow with the different colours
Black and white curriculum rationale
Calum – old fashioned colours
Jessica F – white is my favourite colour
P2/3 Issues / This is what P2/3 think about the old curriculum rationale:
Too much writing for us
Some tricky words
Looks dull
This is what P2/3 think about the new curriculum rationale:
It is bright and colourful
It is not black and white
It has the school logo big so you know it is our school
Easier to read
Nice short sentences
P3/4 Issues / P3/4 prefer the new rationale because
  • It is colourful
  • There is less writing
  • More appealing
  • Catches your eye
  • Looks more interesting
  • There is a picture
  • Our parents would read this one
Other issues:
  • Primary 7 are still taking our things in the playground.
  • Children are still being pushed off the eco domes.

P4/5 Issues
P5 Issues / New
  • Logo lets us know instantly it is Bankier
  • Not so confusing

P6 Issues / This is what P6 think about the new curriculum rationale:
  • The old one was dark and boring but the new one is colourful
  • It stands out a lot more with all the colours on it
  • It is eye catching
  • More inviting to read
  • It has the school badge on it
  • The layout is easier to read because it is in boxes and not just straight scrolling down like the old one
  • It is a lot easier to read and understand
  • The younger ones will find it easier, more colourful and enjoy reading it
  • Nice background colours make it more attractive
DHT appointment ideal candidate:
  • Pleasant to pupils
  • Not really bossy
  • A good listener – listens to pupils’ ideas
  • No favourites – treat pupils equal
  • Be reasonable with discipline

P7 Issues / P7 preferred the new curriculum rationale.
Comments made were:
  • Old one was boring, no-one would want to read it
  • Old one had too many words and was too complicated
  • New one has less words
  • New one looks bright and colourful
  • A wee bit easier to understand
  • Layout is better
  • More suitable for parents and children
  • Looks good

Responses to all issues – for Assembly Report
It’s very clear that you all like the new Curriculum rationale far better than the old one. Mrs Dyerwill show this to the parents at the next Bankier Helping Hands meeting and ask them their opinion.
