System Requirements &Installation instruction:

- Make sure you have enough free memory in the temporary directory

on your system and that read, write and run access rights have been granted.

- Close all other programs before starting the installation.

System Requirements:

- Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT (Service Pack 6 or higher), 2000 or XP

- Pentium compatible PC

- 64 MB RAM

- 250 MB (CJK version: 300 MB) available hard disk space

- 800x600 resolution or higher, at least 256 colors

Note: Administrator rights are needed for the installation process.

Installation instruction:

  • Insert the Ballast water reporting e-Form software CD into the CDROM Drive.
  • Installation will start on its own.
  • Close all other applications running on your system before installation.

If installation does not start on its own then explore the CD and run setup.exe.

Following dialog box will appear

Click on OK. The following screen will appear.

Click on the iconto startinstallation

Installation complete

How to use Ballast Water Reporting e-Form Software

After installing Ballast Water Reporting e-Form, run the Ballast Water Reporting e-Form. To run click on Start>Programs>Ballast Water Reporting e-Form>Ballast Water Reporting e-Form.exe

Create/Load profile

This option allows a ship user to create or load a Ship profile (Refer to the figure below).

Ship profile is basically the information about the ship which includes the following fields:

  • Ship name
  • Ship type
  • I.M.O number
  • Flag
  • Call sign
  • Gross tonnage

To Create/Load profile click on the menu option Profile>create profile (to Create a profile) or Profile>load profile (to load profile).

Note: The profiles are stored in c:\profile\ folder.Deletion of this directory or any of the file in this directory may delete a ships profile.

New

To create a new ballast water reporting form, click on File>New on the menu bar

Open

To view or change a previously saved file, click on the menu option File>Open.

Saving a file

The "Save" field will validate the e-form.

After, all the validations are done correctly, a save as dialog box appears with default filename as “IMO number _arrival date”.

Default file type is *.txt. To save the file as an xml file, choose the file type as *.xml. The file is then saved onto your machine.

Save (Incomplete Form)

The "Save (Incomplete Form)" field will save the contents of the form as DAT file. . On Selecting this option, a save as dialogbox appears with IMO number_arrival date as default filename.

Default file type is *.dat. The file is then saved onto your machine.

Print

The print option prints the form in a landscape format. Best seen in A4 size and default font set to "Courier New".

To print, click on file menu and Print. The print command would be sent to the default printer.

Mail

The Mail option is used to mail the Ballast Water Reporting e-Form to the port authorities.

  1. To mail a file, click on mail option in the file menu. This opens a "file to mail" dialog box.
  2. Select the file type (xml or txt).
  3. Select the file from the desired location.
  4. Click on "Open" to mail the file. This opens an email program (e.g. . Outlook Express).

Inserting New ballast Water History Record

Click on New Ballast Water History Record and then Enter

The following window will open

Modifying/Viewing a Record

Click on “Modify/ViewBallast Water History Record” and then “Enter”

The following window will open

Select tank no to view or modify & then click on show
