BALDWIN TOWNSHIP

RESOLUTION #2002-01

ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, the Township of Baldwin currently contracts with the City of Princeton to provide fire suppression and other services incidental to the protection of persons and property in the Township of Baldwin, and

WHEREAS, a motion was made, seconded and carried at the March, 2001 Baldwin Township annual meeting to enter into a joint powers agreement with the City of Princeton for fire service, and

WHEREAS, the City of Princeton has rejected any and all requests for a joint powers agreement, and

WHEREAS, review of fire protection costs and services has determined that establishing a fire department in the Town of Baldwin will result in an overall savings to the citizens of Baldwin Township;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Baldwin Township Town Board hereby resolves as follows:

FIRE AUTHORITY ESTABLISHED: Effective January 7, 2002, Baldwin Township hereby establishes a volunteer fire department to be known as the North East Sherburne Fire Department.

ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE DEPARTMENT

(Name Clarification)

WHEREAS, a motion was made, seconded and carried at the March, 2001 Baldwin Township annual meeting to enter into a joint powers agreement with the City of Princeton for fire service, and

WHEREAS, the City of Princeton has rejected any and all requests for a joint powers agreement, and

WHEREAS, review of fire protection costs and services has determined that establishing a fire department in the Town of Baldwin will result in an overall savings to the citizens of Baldwin Township;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Baldwin Township Town Board hereby resolves as follows:

FIRE AUTHORITY ESTABLISHED: Effective January 7, 2002, Baldwin Township hereby establishes a volunteer fire department to be known as the Northeast Sherburne Fire & Rescue Department.
