Dear Parents
It is with a heavy heart that I find myself writing this to you. As you will be aware I have had significant health problems over the last 4 years which continue to require continuous monitoring and medication, although I currently feel great and hope I continue to do so.
However, following recent discussions with Dr Richard Jennings, Head of Education at East Lothian Council as well as other ELC staff and health professionals on how ELC can continue to support my return to full health and provide stability for pupils, parents and staff at Innerwick Primary School, it has been suggested that I take the opportunity of workplace redeployment.
Consequently, it has been agreed that I will be leaving as Headteacher of Innerwick Primary School to take on the role of Depute Headteacher at Dunbar Primary School on 16th April 2012. Sadly, my last day at Innerwick will be Friday 30th March 2012.
It goes without saying that I have had a fabulous eight years here at Innerwick and would like to thank all the parents past and present for their unending support both professionally and personally. I would also like to thank all the fantastic staff whom I have worked with over the years and the commitment shown to the unique learning environment we have here.
Finally, I would like to thank the wonderful pupils, again both past and present. Every day at least one of you would light up my life with a comment, cuddle or a smile. You are truly a wonderful group of children and I wish you well as you continue to learn.
Innerwick Primary and Nursery school will always hold a special place in my heart and that of all the MacRury’ family.
Dr Richard Jennings will be in consultation with the Parent Council to find a replacement Headteacher for the school, this will happen on Wednesday 14th March.
Yours faithfully
Angus MacRury
Headteacher
