With several officers graduating out of the Early Childhood Program and a secretarial position still to fill, the Early Childhood PTO (ECPTO) is looking for some new parents who are interested in filling some shoes! We invite you to become a part of our group and help us put the finishing touches on what should be a fantastic year full of fun and friendships. For those of you who are new to the early childhood program, the ECPTO consists of both parents and caregivers of children ages birth to5 years and several early childhood teachers and staff members. In the past, we’ve held monthly meetings to plan activities and fundraisers for the Pattonville early childhood community. With everyone’s hectic schedules, these monthly planning meetings became a challenge to schedule, so this school year, we’ve reduced our number of meetings, are offering only the most popular of our events, and are drawing on outside sources to help lead these events. Hopefully these changes will lessen the burden on our members and allowing them to also enjoy the events with their children. Now that you know we aren’t going to throw a hard hat on you and put you right to work, we hope that you will get involved with our group. After all, research shows that kids whose parents (especially dads) get involved in their child’s schoolactivities are more likely to attend college. And if that isn’t enough to sway you, let me just add, at our meetings, there will be food! For more information on what we will be serving up this semester, please check out our activities on page 5! We hope to see you soon!
