Bachmann electronic: 2010 brings record sales
- The fruits of the previous years: Sales rose by 34.3 percent to
70.4 million euros
- Highlights 2010: Growth in Asia, product offensives and
the CreativeTop
- 2011: Focus on targeted portfolio expansions and
employee development
In 2010, the international high-tech company Bachmann electronic not only celebrated its 40th anniversary but was also able to achieve a growth in sales of 34.3 percent to 70.4 million euros. “This sales record is due to our long-term strategic thinking and the innovative power of our company. It is also based on the fact that in previous years we focused specifically on those individual corporate areas that have all experienced positive development,” Gerhard Bachmann, founder and owner of the Bachmann Group explained during the press conference at the beginning of February. In 2011, Bachmann electronic is aiming to achieve further growth, open up new markets and expand existing ones, drive product innovations and increase its workforce worldwide by around 160 employees.
With an increase in sales last year of 34 percent compared to 2009 Bachmann electronic has consistently continued its successful strategy. This specialist in automation solutions was thus also able to strengthen and extend its strategic position in the wind power and renewable energy sectors. “The Asian market is booming. We have expanded our market share here and considerably increased sales with existing customers,” Bernhard Zangerl, CEO at Bachmann electronic GmbH, confirms. Technological successes and a consistent customer orientation make Bachmann electronic a reliable partner for high-end solutions.
New products and the CreativeTop
In addition to product offensives such as wind park networking, condition monitoring systems (CMS) or grid measurement – an innovation in the field of smart grid communication – the opening of the CreativeTop at headquarters in Feldkirch was one of the highlights of 2010. The high-tech company invested nearly 2.5 million euros in the new trend-setting training and convention center. “The CreativeTop is a space for creativity and communication that reflects both the rapidly developing international orientation and the innovative power of our company,” Gerhard Bachmann explains.
Outlook: Growth through strategic expansion of products and services
The specialist in automation solutions is expecting further profitable growth in sales for 2011 by more than 20 percent to around 85 million euros. As in previous years, Bachmann electronic intends to further strengthen its strategic position and advance market development such as in Asia or America, Bernhard Zangerl explained: “In future, growth will be achieved by expanding specific areas of our product and service portfolio, in addition to the expansion of the markets we cover and sector-specific product innovations. As well as ensuring that expansions are organic, we are developing the business through acquisitions.” At the beginning of this year we took total ownership of the German company µ-Sen headquartered in Rudolstadt, Thüringia. µ-Sen is a manufacturer and solution supplier of systems for the early detection of possible faults in wind power plants and has 38 employees.
These strategic expansions of our range of products and services will provide a significant additional benefit to the customers of Bachmann electronic and will set the course for us as competent partners for complete solutions and thus the success of our company in future years.
Constantly on the lookout for qualified employees
Another focus of the company is the development of our employees: Bachmann electronic places great importance in training, qualifications and specialist expertise. CEO Zangerl adds: “In the race for the decisive competitive edge in development, our employees are our most valuable asset. We are constantly on the lookout for qualified employees.” In 2011 the high-tech company aims to increase its workforce to 575 – around 160 more than 2010.
