[KK1]This role is ultimately responsible for everything related to the grant, from providing vision and direction on materials, to monitoring progress on any promises or grant deliverables, to being accountable for the appropriate spending of grant funds.

[KK2]This role will often help the GrantTeam Lead manage the grant. It works well when the person in this role is very organized and is a skilled communicator. The Project Lead often plays the part of the master collaborator—working with all Grant Team members to provide seamless coordination, anticipate problems, head off glitches, and ensure success.

[KK3]The person in this role works with the Grant Team Lead and Project Lead to ensure the accuracy and proper framing of all donor materials. This person can also work with the Finance and Grant Team Leads to ensure language around spending is consistent with the accomplishments that are conveyed in the narrative of grant reporting.

[KK4]The person in this role prepares the budget (if we’re using one for the solicitation), so this increases the likelihood that it will be well vetted and, therefore, easier to spend. This person also monitors grant spending and alerts the Grant Team Lead of any concerns. And finally, the person in this role is involved with preparing the financials that are used in donor reporting.

[KK5]This role is the person responsible for the development and execution of the overarching stewardship strategy for the donor or Foundation and will work closely with (or may overlap with) the Grant Team Project Lead.

[KK6]Highlight points you wouldn’t expect everyone to automatically know.

Example Considerations:

  • Establish a recurring meeting to review grant spending and progress on deliverables.
  • Notify XXXXX (email or telephone number) as soon as possible about potential delays. Also notify XXXX if you are considering changes to the budget, and/or if you are contemplating modifications to the scope of work.

[KK7]Information directly from grant agreement.

[KK8]Note informationhere about the amount of the donor’s funds that can be used for indirect expenses.Example: [Grantee Organization Name] is allowed to use up to $______of [Grantor’s] award for indirect expenses (X% of direct expenses).

[KK9]Information from the grant agreement, such as natural account variance percentages or budget revision percentages that would require special notification.

[KK10]Provide a copy of the budgetfrom the proposal for easy review. If the final document is available online, consider adding the link to the full document.
