Qualities:
- Unnoticed volunteer who always acts upon the needs of the community without being asked
- They have been volunteering in the community for many years
- This individual goes above and beyond what is expected of them
- They are humble and do not seek recognition
- They are passionate about their community
Spark Award
This award winner is a community volunteer who engages people to be a part of their community in unique and exciting ways. Through their community work this individual sparks a sense of excitement among residents.
Qualities:
- A committed and enthusiastic volunteer who engages residents in new and exciting ways
- They are constantly seeking ways to improve their neighbourhood
- This individual is a motivation to others
- They are passionate about their community
Be Part of It Group Award
This award honours a group of community volunteers whose community contribution improved neighbourhood life and created a sense of belonging.
Qualities:
- A group of three (3) or more community volunteers who worked together
- This group completed a specific community project or event
- They involved external partners to complete the job
- They engaged and involved a variety of residents
- The project or event improved neighbourhood life
- The project or event was a memorable community contribution
Community Builder Award
This lifetime achievement award recognizes individuals, organizations or companies whose lifelong dedication to community has impacted and enhanced the quality of life in Calgary.
Qualities:
- An individual, organization, or company in Calgary
- They have spent many years dedicated to improving neighbourhood life
- They have a strong belief in community spirit
- Their efforts impacted the overall quality of life within both communities and all of Calgary

Nomination Guidelines:
- Entries must be received no later than Friday, February 6th, 2015.
Late and incomplete nominations will not be accepted.
- All nominations must include both thecompleted nomination form AND the supportinginformation filled out (maximum 3 pages).
Entries that exceed the maximum allowed length will not be accepted.
- Supporting documents are encouraged, but should only be included as enhancement to the nomination.
- Entries will be judged on the information provided. Therefore, all nomination documents should contain complete, clear, concise answers to criteria.

Selection Process:
- It is the responsibility of the nominator to inform the nominee that they have been nominated for an award.
- All categories will be awarded based on the nomination information provided. Therefore, a comprehensive nomination is essential.
- The Federation of Calgary Communities Award Committee is comprised of community volunteers and staff, who will adjudicatenominations based on the entries received. All decisions made on behalf of the Award Committee are final.
- Only one award will be presented in each of the four categories.
- The winning Nominator and Nominee will be informed as the awarded recipient no later than Friday, February 20th, 2015.
