UiO provide doctoral education in accordance with the “Regulations for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) at the University of Oslo” and “Ph.D. Programme for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences”.

More detailed information about the research project, funding, access to infrastructure and supervision resources are found in the doctoral candidate’s “Application form and contract for admission to the organized doctoral education at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural sciences”.

This is a third party agreement with a benefit for the doctoral candidate too.

The involved parties have informed each other about any other agreements that concerns the project or agreements that are implied to be made with the doctoral candidate.

In accordance with the “Regulations for the degree of Philosophiae Doctor (ph.d.) at the University of Oslo”, the University of Oslo has the right to make use of the research results for research and teaching purposes free of charge. This right pertains to the doctoral dissertation and any other academic works that result from work with the dissertation for which the student holds the copyright.

No restrictions may be set on public access or publication of a doctoral dissertation, with the exception of a previously agreed brief postponement of the date of publication/public access to allow the external party, in the event that use rights are transferred to this party, to settle questions regarding possible patents or commercial use.
