AVON TRACK & FIELD LEAGUE 2017
The Avon Track & Field League allows each club to have three competitors in each programmed event for U13 and all older age groups. Under 11 is a Quadkids competition with five competitors and the best four count to a team score. All U13 and older athletes have a unique number which will be allocated and notified to the recording team and this has to be done by the Friday evening prior to the Sunday. This process applies to each meeting and in response to a request from those who recorded the performances at the meetings last year a change has been made. Our male athletes will be held on the system with a leading digit of 1 however athletes will still wear a number card in the range 201 -299. The women will be held on the system using the three digit 201-299 range.
Senior male and female athletes should contact their team manager to request a team place if they wish to compete. The Avon League is not an open meeting and the limit of three in an event can be problematic in the short sprints and sometimes in the distance races. Athletes should make contact by the Wednesday evening at the very latest being specific about event choice. With just three team slots get your request for a place in early. A change introduced in 2016 is the inclusion of male masters 1500m.
Athletes in the younger age groups should contact their team managers. Again numbers are restricted. Team managers will appreciate you contacting them.
Hilary Nash is currently the link person who provides Full Name and date of birth to the results administrator along with the numbers allocated for each meeting.

A3You should check the programmes. Identify the event(s) you would like to do. Make sure you know which venue as it is different from recent years when it has always been Yate.
A4You should make contact with your team manager at the beginning of the week before the event. The team manager may be able to allocate your events immediately or may delay to be able to fairly respond to all requests. We have a lot of athletes who may wish to compete. If not advised immediately you will be informed in good time before the weekend.
