2015 Avon Girls Soccer Call-Out Meeting – April 29th

Listed below is information and dates of events that should help in planning your schedules throughout the upcoming months. Please make sure that you check the schools website as all information that we will discuss tonight will be posted. Game schedules, scores, team information, and game summaries will be posted on the website throughout the season.

All Players/Parents-Fill out player info sheet and player pack sizing for and then hand in. Pick up packets that contain agenda, calendar, youth camp registration sheet, and info on physicals.

 FORMS - Physical forms can be found on the school website in the Athletic Dept. Office, or at the Administration building. I have also made copies for you. Each player must have a completed physical on file with the coaching staff or our athletic trainers before their first workout in the summer. All the other signatures/documents will be handled with the Online Documents / Electronic Signature process. The front page of the physical packet explains this process for parents and students as well as providing all the necessary links. Students will be able to get physicals done at Avon if they would like to. The first date will be Monday, May 4th at Avon High School. The second date will be Thursday, May 14th at Avon South Middle School. Athletes can obtain their sports physical at either location.

*Physicals MUST be dated after April 1, 2015 to be considered good for the 15-16 school year.

Spirit Wear and Practice Packs- Nike Spirit wear forms will be posted on the soccer website during the summer. Items will include dri fit shirts (long sleeve and short sleeve), quarter zips, t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, etc. Practice Pack info will come out during the summer as well. Cost will be between $150-$200. The players typically get three pairs of socks, two training shirts, a pregame dry fit shirt, and warm-up outfit. More info to come soon. We will also have car decals and yard signs that families can buy once tryouts are complete. These will be separate from the player packs. The athletic department also does a $50 athletic fee.

Summer activities- All events are OPTIONAL. Purpose of summer activities is to prepare players for mandatory tryouts on August 5th. We will focus on helping players improve technically, tactically, and physically to get ready for the upcoming season. Summer activities are also a great way to get to know your teammates, coaches, and get prepared for the high school soccer environment.

 Summer Calendar

- June: - Open Field: Optional (Dates and times on calendar)

- Team Weight Lifting Sessions (11:00-11:45am on Tue /Thur.) Led by Coach Ballou. Open Lifting Times- Mon, Tue, Thur- 7:30 am- 1:00 pm

-July: -Youth Camp (All incoming 9th graders are invited to attend the camp. Cost-$50)

- Open Field/Conditioning Optional (Dates and times on calendar)

- Team Weight Lifting Sessions (11:00-11:45pm.) Led by Coach Ballou Open Lifting Times- Mon, Tue, Thur- 7:30 am- 1:00 pm

- AHS Team Camp: July 20th-23rd

- Carmel Summer Tournament: July 25th-26th. Players will be chosen by the coaches to attend. The tournament is pay to play.

- Conditioning Sessions: July 28th, 29th, and 30th

- Mandatory Tryouts: August 3rd

Black and Gold Night / Parent Meeting- August 7th- Info on the upcoming fall season for all three teams will be discussed.

- Academics and Avon Athletics Code of Sportsmanship- Grades are closely monitored throughout the season. End of the year grades from the previous school year carry over to the beginning of the next school year. Students need to pass 5 out of 7 classes in order to be eligible to play.

- Fall Break- Fall break is 2 weeks during the state tournament. The dates are Oct. 12th-23rd. All Varsity/JV players who are on the state tournament roster should plan to practice during that time. C and JV season will be complete.
