Minutes of the meeting held on 5 May 2016 were agreed.
Banner costs – HG had obtained a quote from Flagmakers. Howard to obtain a third quote from Punch Signs and compare all three.
Street Cleansing (Bellingdon Road) – Howard has written to CDC Highways asking for details of schedule for road sweeper visits. This followed comments at last meeting on how clean the road looked. Acknowledgement received, awaiting full reply.
Richard produced a letter that the Mosque committee had arranged the litter clearance not the Council! Howard to write to the committee and thank them for their efforts. It was agreed that should AVLCA undertake similar community work that we should also leaflet the local residents to make them aware.
Chesham in Bloom - £620 raised from plant sale at the church and £90 from coffee morning.
Community Grant – Grants scheme offered by CDC was mentioned by Kim at last meeting. This would be a good idea but timescale too short on this occasion. All members asked to consider possible ideas for the next meeting so we can work up possible options in order to apply for a future funding window.Agenda item for next meeting. / HG

8 / Members’ Forum
Lowndes Ave House Fire – Lots of donations to help the family received. They have found a new home and should be moving in next week. Query on cause. No official report – assume ongoing not sure if this will be made public.
Hedge Maintenance – Meeting discussed transfer of grounds maintenance from BCC to Chesham Town Council. Concern over hedges and cuttings left on the highway which cause punctures for cyclists. Richard reported that there is a legal responsibility for the Council to remove cuttings. The Cycle & Touring Club (CTC) also known as Cycling UK has previously taken legal action in other areas in support of cyclists.
Discussion about hedge along Park Road and that its close proximity to the footway means that maintenance requirements are higher than would normally be expected. This has been raised by AVLCA with Chesham Town Council.
