An ASUCD Senate Bill to allocate $187.98 to create 30 sexual assault prevention posters for all social fraternities and sororities.

BACKGROUND: Senator Ruttkay and the Sexual Assault Awareness and Advocacy Committee are coordinating a month long campaign to raise awareness about sexual assault and health. In this, Senator Ruttkay is working on a sexual assault prevention campaign within Greek life. In this project, she is working closely with CARE, the Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic, and Student Housing to implement sexual assault prevention posters within every social chapter house. These posters have been approved by Sarah Meredith from the CARE office and will be implemented throughout Greek Life by Picnic Day. With many fraternities hosting open parties during Picnic Day weekend, it is crucial to have these posters created by then.

The election of Senator Anastasia Ruttkay on the platform of sexual assault education and awareness in Greek life demonstrates the demand by students for ASUCD to participate in promoting education and awareness of these issues. Through this allocation, ASUCD demonstrates its support and commitment to addressing these issues and improving campus climate.

Section 1. The ASUCD Senate hereby allocates $187.98 from Senate Reserves to/for 30 18x24 posters, 30 removable stickers, and a pack of self-adhesive pockets. The posters and stickers will be created through REPRO and the pockets will be ordered from Amazon. The total cost of all three items is $563.94 but will be split three ways among IFC, Panhellenic, and Senate Reserves.
