Australian Indigenous Ministries Prayer Notes February 2016

… Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thess 5:16-18

1st: Trevor & Pamela Leggott: Give thanks to our gracious Lord for Trevor’s successful knee operation and his excellent recovery thus far. Continue to pray that justice might be done in the threatened legal class action by ex-residents of the Retta Dixon Children’s Home. Ask that the Lord will show the way ahead for AIM.

2nd: Bob & Deb McKerrell: Please pray for a good outcome for treatment of Deb's back with severe L3 nerve compression. Bob and Deb were to see the Doctor on29th of January, trusting that God would help with a positive remedy to minimise or even remove the pain. Ask too, that the Lord will make clear to Bob what he is to do regarding the van and truck, as repayments still have to be met.

3rd: Eugen and Ruth Freudigmann: Many would know of Eugen & Ruth from their time with AIM. Please pray earnestly for them both as Eugen has been diagnosed with lung cancer, which is in both lungs and the lymph nodes in his neck. Eugen has started chemotherapy. Remember them in prayer regularly and ask the Lord to be their special portion, strength and comfort in these uncertain days.

4th: Henry & Maria Louie, Gilgandra: Henry has a very busy year ahead, even a visit to NZ in August. So, pray for God’s leading throughout 2016. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work mightily in the community and that the congregation will grow in grace and love for their Saviour and love one another more deeply.

5th: Stephen & Fiona Bignall (Jess), Gulargambone: Pray for Jess beginning Year 11; Fiona recovering from an abscess and a molar extraction; Stephen preparing for and attending full council meeting [8-11th Feb] and AIM website/magazine meeting [5-6th Feb] both in Sydney; preparation of sermons at Warren, Dubbo and Gilgandra. Pray also as Steve Fiona resume RE at Gulargambone; Henry and Steve’s weekly chaplaincy work at Warren. Praise the Lord for his provision of both prayer and practical support for us as 2016 begins.

6th: Harold & Kaye Dalywaters, Elliott: Pray for Harold Kaye as they look to God for opportunities to speak to others about the matchless love of the Lord Jesus Christ. May God give them gracious boldness. Give thanks also, that Whalen has moved to a boarding school in Alice Springs. Pray he will prosper in grace & his studies.

7th: Jono & Grace Wright (Elijah, Tjanara & Manoah), Camooweal: A young Indigenous man went missing on his way to Camooweal on Christmas day. There have been numerous searches but nothing concrete has turned up yet. This has had a huge impact on Camooweal and has really highlighted the intense fear that many people live under. Pray that God in His mercy will work through this difficult patch and bring many to Him for comfort, salvation freedom from fear. Pray for the Camooweal Church as various ministries start for the year. Pray there will be eternal fruit coming from RE Sunday School the regular times of worship outreach.

8th: AIM Council: Pray for the Full AIM Council meeting commencing this morning and running through to Wednesday. Ask that God will give all council members insight, wisdom and discernment during discussions and the decisions made for 2016 and future years.

9th: Rob & Jenni Alley (Miriam Katie and Isaac), MAT: Praise God for the provision of a house and pray for us as we settle in. Pray for Rob’s involvement in AIM’s council meetings in the second week of February. Pray for the leadership of AIM as decisions are made and considered. Continue to pray as we make plans for tours this year that they will come together well and that God would mobilise people to take part.

10th: Cliff & Carolyn Letcher, Member Care NT: Pray that we will be able to formulate the best plan for our pastoral visiting for 2016 as we meet with Stephen Bignall and also the AIM Council in February. Also for Carolyn's health to stabilise so we can proceed with our planned visit to the NT this year.

11th: Rhonda Coats, Darwin: Thank God for the way He directs Rhonda’s steps and opens opportunities to encourage and share with folk from the Darwin area as well as from a variety of Communities while they are in Darwin for various reasons. Pray that she and our Aboriginal brothers and sisters willcontinue to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word, understanding how it applies to their lives and situations, and obedience to it.

12th: Peter & Leanne Smith (Stephen), Head Office: Thank you all for your many prayers for us last year and for the wonderful support the office received. Pray with me that the Lord will accomplish amazing things as we all serve Him faithfully. He is mighty to save!

13th: Alice Schroers, Team Partner, Alice Springs: Pray for Alice as studies commence this month at SMBC. Pray that she will be richly blessed with deeper understanding as she digs into God’s Word. Help her to manage her time well as she works part time as a Senior Resident Medical Officer at Concord Hospital in Emergency.

14th: Isaac & Eilene Gordon, Walgett: Give thanks that Ike and Eilene have been able to attend a number of uplifting Christian conventions over the past two months. With this refreshing of God’s word pray that the Lord will use Ike as an instrument of His purpose to bring many sons to glory.

15th: Roni & Yane Damanik (Ryan & Edith), Humpty Doo: Pray that God will present opportunities for the message of Christ’s love and forgiveness to be shared in all of our relationships. Pray for our children as they commencea newschool year this year.

16th: Tennant Creek: Thank the Lord for the good teaching and strength of the Tennant church. Give thanks too, that David Duggie & Jimmy Brodie are willing to be new leaders. Pray as Michael Jones & Richard Driver train these two men that God will equip them in every way to be loving, compassionate, godly and humble.

17th: David & Rose Cox Dubbo: Pray for David and Rose in the ministry to the congregation in Dubbo. Pray also for the upcoming Day in the Word on 5th March – Theme: "The Church Militant - force or farce."

18th: Martin & Rose Ebel (Najwa), Woorabinda: Give thanks for the members of the church and pray they will grow deeply in their spiritual understanding throughout this year. Pray for Martin as he seeks to be faithful to the Word in all that he says and does. Continue to pray for Rose, still in pain from surgery mid last year. Ask the Lord to lead Martin & Rose to a doctor who will diagnose the problem correctly to relieve Rose from pain.

19th: Bob & Lucy Quinn (Lizzie, Miriam, Alex & Will), TEE: Give thanks for learning opportunities. Please pray for Liz and Mim, starting university and for Will, starting high school.

20th: AIM Katherine: Please give thanks for the wonderful fellowship and ask that the Lord will equip the leaders in their role. Pray He will truly bless the gospel ministry and outreach into the community this year. For Greg and Debbie Piper’s relocation to coastal NSW in March/April

21st: Rockhampton: Praise the Lord for the faithful witness to Indigenous people in this pivotal place. Give thanks that the church members are keen to search the depths of the Word of God. Pray that this year, God will convict and convert all those who hear the glorious gospel of Jesus. Please uphold the leaders in prayer.

22nd: Simon & Tirzah McKee (Abigail & Sophia), Darwin: Praise God for his grace extended to people of all tribes and nations. Praise God for the privilege to share and demonstrate the gospel to many in the NT. We give thanks for an enjoyable and very restful holiday. Pray for Simon as he recommences his ministry in the prison.

Pray for all who come in and conduct church services and assist in the prison that they will be faithful to Gods word. Pray for some younger people to replace those who are aging and have been faithfully serving in the prison ministry for many years.

23rd: Willie & Christine (Retta, Daure and Moses), Cherbourg: Pray for the full week prayer session this month where we seek God’s direction for this year. Pray also for God's wisdom and direction in the Queensland Church Council. Give thanks for the involvement of Retta, Daure and Moses at the ‘Pastors Retreat’ in PNG. It was a great success bringing glory to God Almighty! Thank you all for your prayer support.

24th: Phil & Fiona Spiers, TEAM Partners Mullaley: Praise God for the ministry opportunities and praise Him for His mercy and grace. Pray for God’s leading throughout this new year.

25th: Anita & Jocelyn, Barunga: Thank God that others are starting to come along to meetings. Pray that they will become true followers of Jesus not followers of others, and will become faithful serving members of God's family.

26th: Vincent, Muldoon and Miriam, Borroloola: Thank God that others have been joining the regular group of believers for Sunday meetings. Pray that they will truly want to follow the Lord Jesus and become strong Christians. Pray that the Christians will be strong for the Lord, and will make good decisions of how to live as His child each day.

27th: Peter & Karen Dixon: Please pray for a good start for Karen's new 4/5 school class and for wisdom and grace to foster the right learning opportunities and community connections. Also pray for new school Principal and staff. Give thanks for growing learning opportunities and encouragement in Tennant Creek and Elliott.

28th: Apenisa & Lolou Rabai, Inala: Pray for Adna and Lien Bond, Ruth Moffat and Moreen. Pray for the Youth as they continue their worship and reach out every Sunday afternoon and for Vilimone Lote the Youth Worker. Pray also for pastor Apenisa with all his responsibilities and for Lolou, his wife.

29th: Richard & Sue Davies: We give thanks to the Lord for the safe arrival of a baby boy to our son, Paul and his wife Leah, and this time of leave. Also, for the regular contacts we have with people from various communities and the request for studies from Canteen Creek to begin the new year.
