BACKGROUND INFORMATION

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for compiling budget estimates and running regular financial reports as well as running ad hoc requests of a financial nature. You will be required to analyse trends and report on any anomalies. You will be required to liaise with the Division management to gather and assist in interpreting financial and other data.

2. Communication:

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including liaison, facilitation and negotiation abilities

3. Analytical & Conceptual:

  • Proven sound research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the capacity to assist in the resolution of problems and work towards agreed outcomes.

4. Financial:

  • Possession of and ability to apply knowledge in an area of financial expertise.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated experience in use of spreadsheets and databases
  • An understanding of ABS/public service financial reporting processes

5. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a related field.
