Accountable: to BBBA Board every two months including before and after a carnival and to adhering at all times to the Objects of the Constitution 2014 and the guiding principles of the Vision And Mission Statement Document and its accompanying statementsincluding all relevant policy documents e.g. WHS, Child Protection, Codes of Conduct etc.

Aussie Hoops

Role:To plan, oversee and organise after school hour’s basketball activities on school grounds in local primary schools. To introduce basketball to children 4-8 year olds in primary schools.

Miniball

Role: To develop (when necessary) and run a program enabling children to learn to play basketball in an enjoyable and friendly environment while also learning the necessary skills and fundamentals to assist in their progress through BBBA’s local Primary School Competition. This program also enhances the skill levels and enjoyment of the games for those already in BBBA’s local Primary School Competition.

Advertising

E-Mail, all current participants, School Newsletter Item end and beginning of each Term

Create Poster/Hand-out and Information Sheet, post all on website. Posters at Schools and BRSCC

Kris Hendy also does a school assembly presentation at each school

Court Hire

Liaise with each School, Re to book and organize payment of courts.

Coaches

Secure Head Coach for each Site. Coaching programs are suppled by Basketball Australia

Ensure all coaches have their ‘Working with Children’ check up to date as well as their First Aid Certificate and that all other participants have their appropriate current certification.

Secure assistant coach for each site if required. Teenagers gain experience and are paid $20.00 per session.

Finance

Pre-Budget, to set fees to cover costs. Court hire/ coaches payments

Organize cash/ Direct Deposit for coaches/ Court Hire, per term.

In General

Organize Roster of helpers to assist with initial Registrations and weekly roll Call

Equipment: Ensure hoops pack is available for the coach and that basketball rings are installed

Have First Aid/Child Protection and OH&S Issues covered including risk assessments.

Ensure off school have current ‘Certificate of Currency’

Keep a supply of Aussie Hoops packs (balls, tops and bags) to cover demand

Advertising

E-Mail all current members and advertise on website and school newsletters in first 2 weeks of each term. Advertise In school newsletters with Hoops notice.

Create information sheet for parents/ website

Notify Court Hire Coordinator need to book and pre pay court hire monthly

Coaches

Secure head coach

Secure assistant coaches depending on numbers. Currently Bret Madden with reserve Matt Ogle

Finances/Registration

Pre budget, set fees to cover court hire and coaches costs in consultation with the Finance Committee

Collect session fees and registration fees, issue receipts and bank

Ensure registration forms/ details are passed on to registrar (ensure all participants are registered)

Organize payment of coaches by advising the financial committee of coaches and weeks they covered.

In General

Organize roster for front desk sign in/inquiries

Ensure first aid/ towels are court side

Equipment: ensure coordinators have enough/ maintained stock - plenty of balls (size 5) all pumped up cones etc.

Organize for all equipment to be put away.

Follow first aid/child protection and WHS policies and procedures
