Dear Student:
Aunt Berta's Education Foundation is pleased to present the 13th Annual SAT Workshop at
L. Douglas Wilder Middle School, 6900 Wilkinson Road, Richmond, VA 23227, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. You may register online at www.auntbertaskids.org. The application can be also emailed to or mailed to Aunt Berta’s Kids Education Foundation, 13315 Colfax Dr., Fort Washington, MD 20744. The workshop is free to students.
The workshop will provide “Strategies for Beating the Odds on the SAT.” Mr. John Swann, a nationally renowned educator from the Dayton Public Schools, will present the workshop. For the past 25 years, Mr. Swann has provided SAT performance strategies for students nationally.
Complimentary refreshments will be provided for students and those in attendance.
The goals for beating the odds and realizing success on the SAT will be achieved by:
1. Identifying students’ interest profiles for the SAT
2. Encouraging students to be aware of the importance of scoring high on the SAT,
and having good academic profiles
3. Identifying strategies that work, so that students can use them to perform well on the SAT
4. Stressing and insisting that students have high expectations for success on the SAT
5. Encouraging students to take appropriate courses for high performance on the SAT
6. Learning strategies that will strengthen writing skills
As a result of the presentation, some students have been known to increase their overall scores from 100 to 300 points or more. Please prepare to attend this workshop, which will help increase your skills for taking the SAT.
Thank you for investing your time in attending this important SAT workshop.
Sincerely,
Joseph Haden, Sr.
