Master’s Message

Brethren,

Welcome to 2009 and another fantastic year with one of the finest lodges in Colorado Freemasonry, I look forward to serving you over the coming months. I am always proud of the fine work that we do and I feel it is important to recognize those members who represent the promise of a bright future for our body, with that I would like to begin by welcoming home Brother Chad Weston and congratulating him on the spectacular 3O Proficiency he performed at our Annual Meeting in December. It is in fine work such as this that we find both the product of our devoted labors and the hope of greater works to come. As we strive for greater things this year we will focus on education, fellowship and getting back to our Masonic roots. There is no end to light, my brethren, thus we will continue to seek it out.

With the little space remaining I would like to expound on the principle of force as it pertains to Masonry. Force is the power or strength inherent within each of us; it is limitless, for it emanates directly from the deity; it is neither positive nor negative, it is simply the power to create, change or destroy. It manifests in many forms: physical, mental and spiritual. When inspired by spirit, regulated by intellect and guided by will, force gives us the ability to change minds, to touch hearts and to shape the world around us. But with this great power comes great responsibility. First, we must actively choose to serve, to exert our force when necessary. Second, we must serve that which is good, we must exert our force morally, positively. Remember, my brethren, that we are not merely builders of our own spiritual temples; we are the architects of the external world and servants of all mankind. Have the courage to act, and the fortitude to do so morally. Thus your light will shine as a torch in the darkness, and cast off the shadows of human ignorance. Until we meet again, go in peace.

Fraternally yours,

Nicolas North, Master

Dues notices are out and prompt payment is always appreciated

Now, at the beginning of the year, is a good time to consider purchasing a Perpetual Membership. We know Per Capita will continue to go up, it went up $6 for 2009, and a Perpetual Membership will eliminate paying any more increases. They can be purchased on the “Installment Plan” taking up to three years to pay. If you are interested, give me a call.
