CAMPSITE(Maximum 5 points each heading)

Criteria / What to look forminimum 25 for standard
1. / Group identification / Gateway / Group identified; Pioneering; Construction
2. / Flagpole and Flags / Upright; Correct flags; Pioneered; Position in campsite (guy ropes are not a hazard)
3. / Tents and dining awning – pitch and alignment / Tents square; Tent poles upright; Straight guy ropes (tensioned); Tent pegs do not provide a hazard or are marked; Aired
4. / General camp layout / Cooking tent (gas) away from sleeping tents; Ease of movement; Tent alignment
5. / Tidiness of grounds / No litter; No food scraps on the grounds or tables
6. / Tidiness of beds and bedding / Tidy; Ease of movement inside tents.
7. / Tidiness of packs and clothing / Tidy; Packed away; but accessible. Clothing not on the floor or hung off guy ropes or tent

HYGIENE(Maximum of 10 points each heading)

Criteria / What to look forminimum 80 for standard
1. / Drinking water facility / Fluids available; Drip trays (if appropriate); Out of sun light; Small container refreshed regularly.
2. / Hand hygiene / Antibacterial solution, accessible before food preparation, dining area, & entering camp site. Hand washing facilities before food prep. area.
3. / Perishable food storage / Stored in a cool location; Out of sunlight; rodent proof containers; Raw & cooked foods in separate containers
4. / Non perishable food storage / Tidy; Out of sunlight
5. / Cooking utensils / pots / pans / Clean; upside down/covered

SAFETY(Maximum 5 points each heading)

Criteria / What to look forminimum 18 for standard
1. / First aid kit and contents / First Aid kit available on site; Basic supplies available, including treatment for chaffing
2. / First Aider identified / Ask a Scout who their group First Aider is; Is this person identified (on say a notice board)
3. / Gas bottle and liquid fuel storage / Stored in the shade; No leaking gas; Unused bottles turned off. Replacement bottles checked for leaks.
4. / Fire fighting equipment / Say 1 9l bucket per 12*12 equivalent; Fire extinguishers / fire blanket or other suitable devices in kitchen; Fire buckets labeled; Buckets ¾ full with clean water; Fire extinguisher inside test period
5. / Evacuation plan displayed and known / Is an evacuation plan displayed; Ask a Scout where they are to assemble in the event of an emergency.
