AUBREY LEE BROOKS SCHOLARSHIP
Selection Criteria: Financial need, academic achievement, and planning to enroll at either UNCG, UNC Chapel Hill, or NC State
Amount: One-half the cost of an undergraduate education

CATAWBA COLLEGE WEST TEACHING SCHOLARSHIP
Selection Criteria: Leadership, Community Involvement, a Strong Commitment to Teaching; Open to students who plan to attend Catawba College and also plan to pursue teaching as their profession.

CHOWAN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP DAY
Selection Criteria: Any student can register to attend scholarship day to interview for scholarships; All students who qualify for admissions will be considered for scholarships based on their interviews; Scholarship recipients are leaders in their school, community, sports teams, and churches
Amount: $4,000 or $12,000 or $24,000

COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS
Please check with the college/university you are interested in attending to get information about any scholarships they offer, procedures for application, and deadlines you need to meet. You also want to find out admission application deadlines, FASFA information, and whether there are any other requirements (for example the CSS/Financial Aid Profile).
CSS/FINANCIAL AID PROFILE
Certain Colleges require the PROFILE to be filed along with the FAFSA. Some of the North Carolina schools that required it for 2015-2016 included Davidson College, Duke University, Elon University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, NC A&T University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest University. There are also specific scholarships that require the PROFILE. Registrations for the PROFILE are accepted beginning October 1. Application can be found at www.collegeboard.com. The PROFILE must be submitted online.
ELKS MOST VALUABLE STUDENT
Selection Criteria: Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need
Amount: 400+ scholarships given, ranging from $4,000 - $50,000

HISPANIC SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Students of Hispanic heritage who have a 3.0 GPA or higher and who are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or DACA can apply at the Hispanic Scholarship Fund beginning January 1, 2016 and the application will be open through March 30, 2016. See www.hispanicfund.org for more information.
JACKIE ROBINSON FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Selection Criteria: Minority high school senior planning to attend an accredited four year institution; Show leadership potential; Demonstrate community service; Financial need; US Citizen; Minimum SAT of 1,000 (Math and Critical Reading) or composite ACT of 22

MEREDITH COLLEGE HONORS PROGRAM
About: Meredith College offers a number of scholarship opportunities, including the Meredith Legacy Scholarship, which is a full, four-year, merit-based scholarship, the Presidential Scholarship, which is a full tuition scholarship. These are selected from the Honors Program application pool which can be applied for at Meredith.edu/admissions.

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES U.S. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Four types of scholarships: RMHC Scholars, RMHC/African American Future Achievers, HACER (for Hispanic students), and RMHC/Asia Scholarships.

RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM
Selection Criteria: Academically talented, highly motivated, African American students who are currently seniors in high school and plan to pursue undergraduate degrees full-time. Possess a keen interest in public service, community engagement, business entrepreneurship and global citizenship. Students who apply by the November 1st (postmarked) deadline are considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program AND will have their application information forwarded to a select number of additional scholarship providers. Students applying by the final deadline of January 9th (postmarked) will be considered for the Ron Brown Scholar Program only.

SILVER PEN WRITING COMPETITION
Selection Criteria: Writing contest sponsored by Homestead Hills Senior Living Community; Weighted GPA at least 3.0; Demonstration of outstanding character, leadership, and citizenship; Participation in extracurricular activities; Letter of recommendation from a high school faculty, an employer, clergy or community organization; Six hundred word essay, typed and double spaced

VARSITY TUTORS COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST
Selection Criteria: Varsity Tutors holds a monthly college scholarship contest where students write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the monthly college scholarship.

WINSTON-SALEM FOUNDATION
The Winston-Salem Foundation offers a wide variety of scholarship opportunities for graduating seniors who attend Forsyth County schools. The Foundation offers scholarships with more general eligibility criteria, as well as scholarships with more specific criteria, such as those for students attending specific high schools or colleges or those pursuing certain fields of study. Some scholarships entail a one-time award, while many are renewable for three additional years. Additionally, many scholarships are strictly merit-based, while others will also consider family income as a factor. The Foundation’s Common Application for scholarship opportunities will open on January 1, 2016 and many scholarships have a deadline of April 1, 2016.
