Scholarship Information

Listed below are scholarship opportunities. Please see your counselor or visit the website listed if you are interested in applying for any of these scholarships.

1. The Wylie Bulldogs Education Foundation will award scholarships to students who have attended Wylie for his/her entire senior year and who have at least a “B” average. Applicants cannot have received a scholarship which pays all room/board and tuition. The award is for $1000. The application can be found at the Foundation website- The deadline is March 24, 2016 and the application should be turned into the Admin building on Antilley Road by 4:30 p.m. or postmarked by March 23, 2016 to Wylie ISD, WBEF-Student Scholarship, 6249 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, Texas, 79606.

2. The Community Foundation will award the Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship to a graduating senior who has attended Wylie High School for 10-12th grade, participated in varsity athletics and is ranked in the top 25% of his/her class. Please recognize that if a student is planning to seek funding on an athletic scholarship at an NCAA sanctioned university, the award may not be accepted by that university. Selection is based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular involvement and demonstrated integrity and character. 3. The John Middleton Memorial Scholarship Committee will award a scholarship of $1000. Applicant must be the son or daughter of a full time employee of a federal, state or municipal law enforcement agency in Taylor County or a full time employee of the French M. Robertson Unit or the John Middleton Unit of the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice. Deadline is April 1, 2016. The application can be found at and should be turned to the address on the application.

4. The Todd Moore Memorial Golf Scholarship will be awarded to a senior student who has participated in varsity high school golf. The award is based on financial need, scholastic achievement, and potential for success in a college environment. 5. The Community Foundation of Abilene and The Abilene Rotary Club will award the Chuck and Doris Moser Scholarship. To apply, a student must be a Varsity Wylie athlete and graduate in the top 25% of the class. The application can be found at The deadline is April 1, 2016 to the address listed on the application. Please recognize that if a student is planning to seek funding on an athletic scholarship at an NCAA sanctioned university, this award may not be accepted by that university.

6. The Community Foundation will award the Tillie Odam Memorial Scholarship. Students are eligible who are currently pursuing a degree in an accredited health care technical trainingprogram or are majoring in some facet of health care at a two year or four-year college. 7. The Community Foundation will award the Johnathan Wesley Tschaar Memorial Scholarship to a student graduating from a Taylor County high school who has participated in the agricultural program at their school as an exhibitor at the Taylor County Livestock Show. The award is for $1000. Applications can be found at Deadline is April 1, 2016 to the address listed on the application.

7. The Community Foundation will award the Abilene Alumnae Panhellenic Association Missy BridwellScholarship to a senior girl based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and financial need. The deadline is April 1, 2016. Applications can be found at and should be turned in to the address on the application. The recipient must plan to attend a college or university with national Panhellenic Conference Sororities.

8. The Community Foundation will award The Wes-Tex Drilling Bob Cockrell Memorial Scholarship to a student whose parents or grandparents were employees of Wes-Tex Drilling. Preference will be given to students desiring a career involving engineering, science, or math. The award could vary between $1000 and $2500 per semester. 9. The Community Foundation of Abilene will award the Ashley andSara Abel Memorial Scholarship to a student based on high school activities, community service, and demonstrated leadership skills.
